Hi, my name is Marcel.

I received by mail an offer to buy a vacation pack offered by Ramada Plaza Resorts.

I called them and I paid 700$ initial fee for 2 nights in Ft. Lauderdale, 2 nights cruise to Bahamas,

1 night back in Ft. Lauderdale, and 2 nights in Orlando with rental car included.

Total cost 700$ (paid) plus 199/pers to be paid at the time of reservation. I wanted to go for Thanksgiving Day 2000

and I called them for reservations.

They told me that I had paid only 300$ so I start to wonder. After about 3 months of fighting with them, numerous calls, and talking to about 30 different people, they said it is o.k., they found the money.

At this point I asked them for a refund. They said that I am not entitled to so they gave me an extension of 18 months

to take the trip. After 9-11-01 we are kind of reluctant to travel. The pack includes also, additional 3 days in Las Vegas.

Is there any chance to get the money back? Their answer was to sell the pack.

Could you help me?

Thank you.

They filed the following rebuttal to the above Rip-Off Report: Their email: [email protected] Their name: Bridgette Their relationship to the company: Consumer Suggestion Rebuttal: I'm sure you can keep fighting the issue, but you probably signed a contract which specified that there were no refunds after a given date. Although they "misplaced" your check (did it go to the wrong place?), they did recover it and you were able to take your vacation. If, at that point, you chose not to go because of negative feelings about the organization, that's not their problem. Continue fighting it if you feel it's necessary, but read over the initial contract to see if I'm right about the clause. A signed contract is a signed contract and Ramada is generally a respectable organization.
