I started renting a unit from Another Room Storage on Aungust 2011. I had no problems with this company, however, I went in to make a payment on August the 30th of 2016 to be told they are now Public Storage. I asked why I wasnt notified of the new ownership. I talked to Ted Spatt, he stated that he could not find me in the system, they had me on file so he had me fill out a new application with their company and stated they could not except any money from me at that time due to not being in their system. He told me to call back the 1st of September to only be told that i was still not in the system. They said to call back the 1st of October of 2016 and I was still not in the system. This went on for several months of being told the same thing. I was reassured nothing would happen to my things. I took more items over in June of 2017 and I talked to Courtney King she stated that it shoulnt be much longer and that i would receive a letter and phone call when i was in the system. I Talked to Laura in july. I went back on August 15th of 2017 and discovered that the lock had been changed and the storage had been emptied. A worker named Dean contacted the district manager Phillip and was reassured that he would call me by the end of the day and he would look into what happened. He never returned the call. I went back on August the 16th of 2017 at 9:30 when they were suppose to open and waited until 11 for someone to show up and then got a call from the district manager Phillip. He said he was new and he was unsure of what happened. He told several diffferent stories of what could of happpened, one being that it could have been robbed because they have had several robberies. He then stated our unit had been disposed of and thrown in the dumpster. When pressured on how this could have happened, he said it was a mistake on their part and to let him contact his boss and he guaranteed that he would call me back no later than 5 that day and as of September 15th of 2017 I still have not heard anything from him. The loss from the storage was more than just valuables lost, it was very sentamental items from my deceased son and several other family members. Upon making a police report I was told they have had several break ins and when asked about cameras they were told they were nonfunctional. Also was told that 3 managers have been fired and are suspected of being an inside job.
