I was recently in my opion wrongfully terminated as an employee of Public Storage for not following policy & procedure by my district Manager. She citied reservations & late calls as the main reason for firing me.

This is after she violated the company policy in refernce to stealing money from the company to give to certain employees for gas money. She also violated company policy by not following the guidelines concerning the DTM sales. She had an unauthorized employee cut locks on delincquent units and made property managers do thesale paperwork.

She also sold a tenant's unit when the tenant had a $17.00 credit at the time of the sale, which is not only a company violation, but against Florida state laws concerning these sales.

The company is justifing my termination based on my District Managers supplying certain examples of where I didn't follow her version of company policy. This is from a woman who has cheated the company, lied to tenants and stolen a tenants belongings. Because she is still a District Manager,I feel the business practices of Public Storage should be questioned.

Employees are threatened with their jobs and the ones that question her or don't kiss her a*s are terminated. I have faxed the documents that verify all my satements to the corporate headquarters where I'm sure they'll get swept under the table. How can consumers be treated fairly when the employees are being treated this bad?

If any Florida tenants read this report and were told they needed to purchase/enroll in the insurance program or were told they needed to purchase one/two locks, they were lied to per " Company Policy."

Since the female district manager who stole from the company, didn't do DTM sales properly and used the company policy to have a 2 1/2 year employee terminated because she didn't like him is still a district manager- Public Storage really cares about the public and it's employees. Since 3/20/02 the former employee has not heard from the corporate office, but did settle out of court with the woman from Sanford who had her belongings ILLEAGALLY sold by Allison Black. The Regional manager who was aware of this did nothing about her gross misconduct due to the fact she still has her job. Public Storage allows middle managment to harass and twist the "company policy" to screw the public and thier employees in order to maximize their own commissions and bonus earnings. Since this all occured in Florida where the labor laws are somewhat backwards, employees really suffer.
