The Empire corporation froze Mr. Hann Soloh's ASSets during the whole carboite dilema. It wasn't until after strong negotiations with Mr Jabbah T Hut and Mr Chew Bacah did were his ASSests released, of course with a little help from his lawyer, Mr Ohby Won Kanobe, the famous litagator. If will read the financial news about the Traveler's/Citicorp merger or if you read their 10K filings with the SEC you will see that Citicorp no longer exists as it did before the merger. One entity took the name and is in a completely different market of financial goods. They are under the same group but they are not the same. They are a family of very distinct businesses, who happen to be owned by the same entity. Sandy Weill's whole horizontal integration strategy is based on the distinct of the companies carrying some version of the "Citi" name. How else would there be any cross selling? Again, read the post very carefully before commenting. And go to Citigroup's website where they describe the differences between the companies. Just for your information the J.E.D.I. Corporation is the best company in the universe and you really need to leave it alone, it is a FORCE that you can NOT and will never understand. You wanna hear a REAL success story ? Our Vice President Mr. Bo B. Fet used to be a bounty hunter, and now he is kickin it old school, with the likes of fine women like Ann A. Kin. And if that in it self isn't a success story, he is on first name basis with the likes of, Mr. Hann Soloh, Mr Chew Bacah, Mr Jabba T. Hutt, and Mr E. Wok. So, before you think you can ever compare that rat speckled Primerimca with the J.E.D.I Corporation you think again.

Jennifer, I have to agree with the folks who already responded to your "We're part of Citi, so we must be OK" rebuttal. My husband works for an affiliate company of CitiGroup & he HATES that you people insist on throwing around the Citi connection to try to legitimize your operation. Everyone who works for Citi knows what Primerica is about, & they are EMBARRASSED to be connected in any way, shape, or form to that operation. Thankfully, Citi announced last year that it is cutting my husband's company loose by the end of this year, so he won't have to deal with hearing about you people anymore...

As I stated before, I am not defending Primerica or anyone affiliated with the company. I am not stating that just because it is under the CITI umbrella, that it is a wonderful organization. It's not a wonderful organization, but it is a legal organization. The recruiters come on too strong and are way too persistent, but there are people who have been sucessful with this company. And in response to Paul from Roanoke, "Citicorp" is still in existence. Citicorp, Citigroup, and Citibank are one in the same. Some people consider Primerica a great company to work with and some people consider them the scum of the earth. Jennifer, I, for one, appreciate your input. Very polite and succinct; however, take care to assume a "company" like Primerica is "OK" because it is affiliated with a larger entity. Primerica is not "OK", it is using a pyramid recruitment style to take in income and absorb whole families into its grasp. It's wrong, it's unethical and it's plain creepy. Let's all chant some big important company names and big important "names" together. Ready class? "Enron, Arthur Andersen, K-Mart, Earthlink, Bill Clinton, Richard Nixon, and a wad of Internet companies I can't even begin to name that over stated earnings during the boom. Thanks! TFC

Jennifer, Specifically, the parent or umbrella company is CitiGroup. Citibank is still a regular bank but is also one of the main arms for their emerging markets division. "Citicorp" no longer exists. Just because Primerica is part of Citi doesn't mean it's legitimate. Although this is a poor, trite analogy it makes the point: Was J.E.D.I. legitimate because it was under Enron? There are various reasons why Weill considers Primerica an asset to Citigroup, but none of them necessarily mean that they are the best company to deal with from the perspective of the consumer. It is human nature to fall in line when someone official tells us to, e.g., the government, corporate america, college professors. But just because they seem to have legitimate authority doesn't mean we shouldn't question and figure out for ourselves. Regardless of one's opinion of Primerica as a company there are two issues that remain. The first is the MLM structure and any misleading that is generated consistently by the company's policies and culture. The second issue and the one with which I am the most familiar are their sub-par products. The mutual funds in the SB family are market worthy. However, the rates for term life insurance are pretty bad--from my 2 FNA pitches, they were 48% and 53% percent higher than the average of 3 other quotes I got on the exact same insurance: level, 25 year, same amount, etc. If people are willing to pay for an unnecessarily more expensive product then that is their loss. However, this doesn't sit well with Primerica's pitch to recruits that they are on an altruistic mission to help people financially. The worst product is the refinancing loan. Saying that the interest rate doesn't matter and hiding the difference with extra payments is very misleading and will literally cost a borrower thousands of dollars unnecessarily. Finally, the lack of formal personal finance training makes for costly mistakes for many consumers. Paul

First of all, I am not defending Primerica or anyone affiliated with the compnay. However, you need to gather correct information BEFORE you complain. The name of the company is PRIMERICA, not PRIME AMERICA. Also, Citicorp, Citigroup and Citibank are one in the same. Primerica is a part of the CITI family and is not really the shady operation you try to make it seem. You might to get your facts straight before you complain. Thanks!!!
