I fell victim to the deceptive practices of this mortgage company. I paid an upfront fee of $395 and locked in a rate with a 30 day lock. I provided all information immediately when requested. The company made an error in the paperwork and had to send out a new set of forms for my signature which I immediately returned. When the 28th day of my lock period came along I contacted the loan processor, Mr. David Phillips, and inquired why I hadn't received my closing statement. He told me that he was overwhelmed with applications and was running behind on his paperwork. He promised me that my rate would not expire and that I would not be charged any additional amount. I asked to speak with his supervisor, Christina Levinson, and was told the same thing my rate would not change and I would not be charged any additional amount.

Three days later I was called by the loan officer, Mr. Steve Darling, who told me that I would have to pay a re-lock fee since my lock had expired. I asked to speak with his supervisor, Mr. Peter Bachman and I explained to him that I had been assured by his staff that I would not be charged anything as a result of Priceline.com's failure to close the loan on time. He told me that I would have to pay a relock fee and that if I didn't agree that I could withdraw my application. He added that if I waited to decide that I would have to pay an additional re-lock fee for each week that loan didn't close.

His employees both denied that they had told me that there would be no other charges.

To add insult to injury, they funded the loan on Friday afternoon without wiring funds to my current lender so that they could earn interest on the funds over the weekend which resulted in additional interest charges to me of $285.

Priceline.com performed misleading and deceptive business practices in the processing of my loan.
