Attractive Village Hall...

It is so hard to believe that another great Tupper Lake organization is trying to stick their hand in the cookie jar. We now have the Tupper Lake Police Department trying to get funding for a new police department. Hell, Tupper Lake taxpayers would be better off to abolish the police department altogether and just get a few more New York State troopers to patrol the Tupper Lake area full time. I feel sorry for all the taxpayers that will be forced to pay for the new building. I just think it's a joke that more Tupper Lakers don't stand up for their 1st Ammendment right.

This is to Richard, Hey Rich did you ever think that Peter Edwards did do his job? Well think about this... Maybe Pete told the police and the rest of the people in the building that it was dangerous and they should do something with it. I know Pete and I know he is a good guy, and a great father! You shouldn't say anything about Pete if you dont know the truth. So dont you get back on here and say any thing about him or any one elce!! And another thing it would be nice if you would mature, and stop acting like a little baby. If they build another police station here in tupper it would be a good thing, ive been in there it is a piece of crap. Pluse if they do build it the tax payer would have to pay which is Pete Edwards,Chief Cole, Officer Amell and the rest of them. DID YA THINK OF THAT! come on gimmi a break!

Richard, follow what I'm saying.... cheaper to just build a new building rather than get rid of the police dept

For Richard, as I told Gregg I'm far from a member of the TLPD. I'm just someone who is sick and tired of hearing dirtbags come on this site and trash the police for doing their d**n job. What I was saying when I was discussing it being cheaper to just build a new building rather than get rid of the police dept. and hire more troopers was that the troopers start off at like 48k now and even just to hire two fresh ones would cost around 100k. Therefore, if we kept our already effective dept. and just built a new station, it would be around the same d**n price. I know this doesnt include the TLPD's salary, but if you want to complain about the chump change they make for the work they do, complain about the top dogs pay, not the patrolmen or the sgt's. They don't make enough in my opinion to deal with the s**t that they do. Makes me wonder who the hell you are and leads me to believe you've most likely been arrested. So be bitter! I'm just stating, the folks working on the third floor were told they couldn't any longer because the d**n building is caving in up top. Maybe you think that is a safe working environment for our village office and TLPD station, but I dont and as the hardest working group in the village, I think they deserve a nicer station. Instead of giving all sorts of gadgets to the fire dept. boys who for the most part, sit around and drink and play pull tabs all day. (Sorry to offend any firefighters, I dont mean this for all of you.) But...im starting to sound like jim lavair by posting so much, so im done rambling.

Dear Gregg! if you treat them with respect, most times they will be fair and help

Dear Gregg! I just wanted to clarify that I am not a member of the TLPD, so your cliche dunkin doughnuts comment really doesnt appeal to me. However, I also want to clarify that I really don't care what the actual jail cells look like. They are to house criminals and furthermore should be at a pretty low standard in my opinion. Matter of fact, I think prison in general is too nice for the people it houses. So what I was really referring to was the actual offices where the policemen have to work, you know the folks I really do give a hoot about. People like you however, should be kept in dark, clammy cells with just a little hole in the floor for you to piss in. And as for the way you think cops should be treated, I've found that if you treat them with respect, most times they will be fair and help you out if they can. Otherwise, if you treat them like s**t, they pretty much should treat you like s**t right back. However, many of you don't even try to treat them nicely. So they treat you like the scumbags that you are!

Yupper from Tupper,

I dare to differ from opinion but if you add two troopers that patrol just Tupper Lake at rate of pay of 50,000 each yearly it is still a hell of a lot cheaper than 10 village officers making at least 20,000 a peice, not to mention the two vehicles that the village maintains and updates every two years. Now they want to purchase a building, hah, ever here of monkey see, monkey do? Saranac Lake moved into new building and now Tupper Lake wants to follow the leader. Oh, d**n, stop with the jokes, The Tupper Lake Police would s**t themselves if faced with a real serial killer or something serious like that. One thing is for sure, they would wait for the State boys, like they even do for a simple assault call. Why do we even have a police force if the state boys need to be called anyways? Oh, I have been in the whole building and I see nothing wrong. If the third floor is so d**n bad, why did the building inspector Pete Edwards do anything about this before it got so bad smart a*s yupper from good ole Tupper?

Anyone that has ever been a guest anywhere in any hole called a jail is laughing hard. I have had the honor of being a guest twice in my local town (The cops don't like it when you talk to them the way they talk to you). I would rather be incarcerated in the local SPCA animal shelter, they have a cleaner facility and treat their wards nicer.

Suck it up, buckwheat, what you got is what you get. If it collapses on you, there are plenty more donut dunkers where you came from. Hey, Jim, here's a badge, a gun, and a bullet.

Gee, I hope I wasn't too harsh or bitter.

the third floor of this "palace" you people think should serve as our police station is CAVING IN! Your NUTS!

Just to let you know, the third floor of this "palace" you people think should serve as our police station is CAVING IN! And in addition, at one time there was SEWAGE, yes SEWAGE, running through the station due to broken pipes. Sometimes there is water flowing over the floors due to being in the basement, hell, these guys have it worse than most prisoners.

These guys are forced to work in a completely unsafe building, which sits in the basement of a building that is slowly collapsing. If you don't believe me, go check it out for yourself.

And ANOTHER thing, if you think that they should do away with the TLPD, you might be interested to know that it was looked into already and they found that it was absolutely IMPOSSIBLE! These guys work pretty much for pennies and they do, in my opinion, a great job!

You want to save the taxpayers money???? Think about this for one minute. A trooper gets paid a hell of a lot more than these guys on the TLPD get paid and to pay two of them to patrol tupper would cost more than a new 80,000 station.

I just thought you should know how bad their working conditions acctually are and that if your talking saving the taxpayers money, hiring troopers to patrol tupper would be a complete waste of your money!!! And futhermore, it's probably a safe bet that you don't even work or pay tax dollars so what the hell do you care!?

So I insist that you get off your mama's couch, remove the remote control from your hand, and take a tour of this MAGNIFICENT (lmfao) police station that you think is so fitting for those who protect and serve!

There is nothing wrong with current building! ..a scam just to rape the taxpayers again.

I would just like to ask the village what is wrong with the village offices and police department. Yeah, maybe the building is old but big deal, there is nothing wrong with it as I can see. I think this is a scam just to rape the taxpayers again. The village board says " Hey lets purchase a new building for $80,000 but write it off at $100,000 and then we can split the difference among each other. Well enclosed you will find a picture of current village office.
