Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

So far not a good experience. Ordered a new Black Widow beginning of February and still not delivered. We have made many calls and stopped in many times to be given excuses as to why its not being delivered. Factory problems .

Can't get motor for 6 months unless pay another 2500.00 to upgrade from a 200hp to 225hp. I call BS on that one. Makes me worry as to how the service dept. will handle any problems. Lousy communication and never returns calls.

UPDATE>>> Worst exprience ever. Ordered a new boat 2/13/16 paid 6000.00 down.

Told 6-8 weeks. Didnt come in. Gave it a few more weeks. NOTHING. For 6 months NOTHING but lies and promises. Requested money back 10 times even sending a certified letter. Dave told us no problem . It is 7/23/16 still no money.

Instead he pulled in a USED boat (I took pictures of beer bottle caps and cup in holder said 5 o clock somewhere)and tried to pass it off as new. Said thats not your boat its under the canopy.

Wow same boat cleaned up with seaweed still on trailer and scratches and gashes in the side. BIG problem its still 2 foot shorter and smaller motor. Took pictures again. Liars and thieves. Also reported them to state atty office. GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK.

Outpost Marine - Issue Resolved

Today (Saturday August 20th) I received a refund of my initial $6,000.00 down payment from Outpost Marine and consider the issue closed.

This entire incident would have been avoided if the manufacturer had delivered the boat that I ordered in a reasonable time frame.

The Saga Continues

Outpost Marine's reply to our original complaint simply continues their practice of ignoring the "facts" and misrepresenting those that they cannot address.

I will begin by addressing the inaccuracies in their reply to our complaint:

1) "Tom is an unhappy person in life" - anyone having to repeat our experience with Outpost Marine would be more than unhappy.

2) "The boat he ordered was delayed from the factory due to a fire.  When told that, he said no problem.  Then he complained about it taking too long?" -   We were told to expect delivery of our boat on a few occassions prior to May 7th with different reasons for each delay - none of which involved a fire.

On May 7th, my wife and I visited Outpost Marine requesting a refiund of our deposit.  Rather than provide a refund, we were verbally abused by a sales rep who then went into the back of the store to supposedly obtain our refund.   After about 15 minutes, we were asked to speak with the President of Caravelle who was called on a speakerphone in adifferent sales rep's office.  We were informed then for the 1st time of the fire at the factory (whch was now back in production) and guaranteed by the Caravelle president of delivery of our boat by the following Friday.

Friday May 13th came and went with no boat and no informatiuon from Outpost Marine.  We allowed at least another week before demanding a refund; again with no reply from Outpost Marine.

3) "So we gave him a $7,000 discount on his boat" - A $7,000 discount was NEVER discussed. In Outpost Marine's rebuttal to this same complaint on the BBB web-site, they talk about a $6,000 reduction at time of sale.   The only $6,000 was the down payment that we were required to provide at time of sale.

4) "The boat was taken to Lake Tarpon for a water trial when he saw it later that day it still had grass from the lake on the bottom."  After placing numerous calls to Outpost Marine (that were never returned) I received a call from the owner the evening of Saturday July 17th (now 2.5 months AFTER the Fire discussion) informing me that my boat was finally delivered and that I could view it the following Monday.  He indicated that he understood the frustrations that we experienced in the process and that he and the Caravelle president agreed to provide a $10,000 price reduction if we wanted to go forward BUT there was "no pressure" for us to accept the boat - he would leave it up to me.

My wife and I were in the neighborhood and went to the Outpost Marine facility (which had closed for the day) where we viewed the boat behind the sales office (area readily accessible to the public) and took many pictures.   The boat that we saw was a different model (237UR) than ordered (247UR) (2 feet shorter) with a smaller engine (175HP rather than 200HP) AND was obviously USED.   There were scratches in the hull, scratches in the side decals in addition to bottle caps in the cup holder with an "It's 5:00 Somewhere" plastic glass.   One of the drawers in the Galley also had a broken handle.

The engine housing was off and it was being worked on.  The boat sat on a used aluminum trailer rather than the custom Black Widow trailer that we ordred.  I called Outpost Marine relaying what I found and indicating that I simply wanted a refund.

On Tuedsay July 19th, I received another call from the Outpost Marine owner who insisted that the boat that my wife and I viewed on Saturday was NOT OUR BOAT.  Accordng to him, our boat happened to arrive afterward and was now in the Outposdt Marine covered driveway.  He asked when my wife and I could come down for a test ride and I replied that Friday was my 1st availability.   When I informed my wife of the discussion she insisted that we take a ride to Outpost Marine that same night which we did.   What we found was the SAME USED BOAT that we had viewed on Saturday but had now been detailed.

Here we are now 6 months after ordering a "new" 247UR Black Widow boat through Outpost Marine.    The boat that we ordered was never delivered and Outpost Marine continues to refuse to issue a refund despite 6 months of increasing abuse.  I only hope that no one else is subject to the lack of base respect that we have experienced at the hands of Outpost Marine.

Ther rebuttal to our initial complaint entered by Outpost Marine is clear evidence of how facts can be twisted to present a totally dsdiffeent picture of the real truth and is just another injustice at the hands of Outpost Marine.

I was contacted last week by the Florida State Attorney Genertal's office in response to my complaint with them and look forward to their assistance in securing a refund from Outpost Marine.  It is a shame that such steps are required to receive what should be a common courtesy from any reputable business.

Tom's Complaint

Tom is an unhappy person in life. The boat he ordered was delayed from the factory due to a fire. When told that, He said no problem. Then he complained about it taking too long? So we gave him a $7,000.00 Dollar discount on his boat! The boat was taken to Lake Tarpon for a water trial when he saw it that day it still had grass from the lake on the bottom. Tom is an un-happy person period. We could give him $10,000.00 off the price and he would still find something to complain about! Outpost Marine Group wishes him well in his attempts to hurt our business, but everyone has an opinion and that's his.

You can please most of the people some of the time, but sometimes there are "Tom's" out there that can't be happy unless they have something to complain about!
