I had an order including delivery fee totaling 14.99. I entered my card information and I receive instant text alerts when my card is charged. I wa charged 17.99. I called the store and they said they show I was charged 14.99 and to call customer service. I've been on hold so long I'm expecting my pizza now any minute. I would like to speak with someone to make sure this charge gets adjusted but the store says they have no control over online payments. Their customer service center is impossible to get a hold of. If they are charging every so many customers a few dollars extra, that money adds up. I'd like to know who is responsible for this charge, when it is processed online and the store has no control over what is being charged? I know it's only a couple dollars. But I make 9 dollars an hour and can't afford to lose a few dollars here and there. What's going on here. It's not a tip, or delivery charge. And their store shows a completely different amount then the amount my transaction my card company showed instantly after the transaction was processed.

Pre-Authorization Holds

When you have a Debit card a company will "Pre-Authorize" an amount.  When it comes to resturants while they are generally not supposed to they could "Hold" an additonal amount for an expected tip.  In your case $3 would be 20% and about standard.

But if you never gave them a tip or authorized it, when it POSTS it will be for just the $14.99.  So what amount was actually POSTED to your your account?
