North American Direct Services Magazine bait and switch Toronto Ontario
I was solicited by North American Direct Services in June of 2014, with an offer to subscribe to some magazines with an offer to get a $500 gift card. Having just recently divorced and trying to make it on my own, the $500 sounded pretty good. Essentially, the $500 would more than compensate what I would pay in magazine subscription. What I didn't realize was that I was getting 5 magazines a month or more. I didn't have time to read them all! When I went to cash in my prize fulfillment, I was told it would be ANOTHER $50! At the initial phone call, I asked if I could cancel it at any time to stop and I was assured that would not be a problem. WRONG! I probably called 6 times over the next 3 years to stop it and was told that was impossible. I even went so far as to get a different credit card and they still managed to charge the $19.99. Now, fast forward, I payed $598.50 for a crap load of magazines I never read.
Why I am filing a report now is I found all of my paperwork from it and I want to protect others from this ridiculous company.
