The i730 had a manufacturer flaw in it early on and it did not affect every phone .... the problem was reported to Motorola, they came out with a redesign to fix the issue, and free software upgrades were offered for any affected unit at local service centers.... What more could you want??? I have been a Nextel employee for almost 4 years and I hear people everyday calling to cancel with unrealistic expectations... We are really sorry your 1 phone didnt work... have it fixed for free, or replace it, duh .... We are consumers too, so saying the we (employees) dont care is an underestimation on your part... as far as the high commisions, well I work in the cancelation department and I make big bonuses on saving customers from canceling... Good luck going forward

Over a year ago we were looking to change cell phone carriers for our business due to our growing needs, we became extremely interested in Nextel's services, they offered portable credit card machines that were ideal & much needed for our service vans.
At that time we were Verizon customers & would had stayed if they had provided the same equipment.
At the time of contracting their services I met with the sales rep and his manager, told them what I wanted and emphasized that we did not want our bills over $600 since our verizon bills were comfortably in the $400-$600 range each mo.
I provided the sales rep with copies of our Verizon bills, he did an analysis & presented a plan that would be comparable to verizon & also re-assured me that our phone bills would not go over $450 a mo (I have that in writing).
It sounded great! we signed a two year aggreement and before the ink dried the trouble began.
We never received all of the equipment, we only received the phones & not the credit card machines (the major reason why we switch carriers!), the bills were consistently over $1000 each month and you could never reach a customer service manager that could assist you.
I have all the documents to prove our story, I have had numerous conversations with the personel at their "corporate" office and to date they refuse to acknowlege their wrong doings and the unfilled contract/promises!
We have since cancelled our contract and refuse to pay the remaining balance. Nextel is a scam, I will never use them again or even refer them! They need to be exposed and held accountable for their questionable business practices.

I did not insult, nor do anything else to anybody. I am not a "basket case", either. And why should I not defend Nextel? I have as much right to stick up for them as you do to bash them. The things you said were insulting and completely unintelligent and uncalled for. Also, I might add that I am an IT Administrator and I do have a diploma. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems. Your comments made no sense. Oh, and learn how to spell and use proper grammar.

Unfortunatly it's true. MOST companies reserve the right to make changes in policy whenever it is needed for whatever reason. I do know that whenever Nextel makes a change, they will put a notice of it on pages 2-5 of your invoice about 1-3 months ahead of time. You know, the part most people don't take a moment to read. I don't blame Nextel or the consumer. People are so busy now, they receive a ton of junk mail and the last thing they want to do is read everything thing that is printed on their invoice. All consumers care about is the bottom line; amount due. If it is suddendly up, then they take the time to read why.

I have an i730 and never had a problem with it. Sounds like the operator is to blame here. Second, Nextel did switch from one-second rounding to full-minute rounding. This is something they did some time ago. They have every right to change those types of things without notifying you at all. Read your terms and conditions. There are a lot of things they can change. Unless, of course, you don't know how to read. On a final note: Get your head out of the clouds. All you want to do is sue. This nation is sue happy. What would you file a suit under anyhow? You have to have proof that they violated either a law or your civil rights before you can sue. Go cry to your mom, you baby!
