Nextcard Visa No customer service, no internet address and no answer to mail fraudulent ripoff business Omaha Nebraska
I have been like one of the many before me that has been ripped off by Nextcard. I obtained a card off of Amazon.com where they had been advertising right before Christmas. Of course my APR was great and I could make easy payments online. ALWAYS made at least triple the minuimum payments to pay off my credit card faster but one day it seemed to be all gone. No customer service could be found nor was the website accessible anymore. What made me even madder is I received nothing in the mail saying Nextcard went out of business and was selling my account or did I get any information about who purchased the account and where to get a hold of the new company.
Reading earlier messages on here, I was hopeful that I had finally found my answer in Merrick Bank and a website. Unfortunately for me that was not the case. But the good news was, I ACTUALLY got a hold a Merrick customer service rep and she in turn gave me a number to where my account had been sold too. I again ACTUALLY talked to a customer service rep, did a payment by phone, got a confirmation number, date and who I spoke with because of the some of the earlier horror stories I have read on here about making payments and them not getting posted etc(Keeping track of all information will be critical in dealing with this company)..The number for anyone out there who does have a Nextcard account but the account was not purchased by Merrick Bank is 1-866-290-9235. She also stated they have a website, www.cardmemberservices.net but how conveinent that they are "temporarily" down.
I don't blame anyone for me obtaining the credit card (thank God my credit limit was small)but someone should be to blame for these people continuosly ripping off customers. I am only a few hundred from paying my card off and I will end all ties with them as I have already cancelled my account, but I am hoping that something is done to stop these loan sharks and their ILLEGAL practices the government is letting them get away with right now to hard working people.
