9/18/03~~~ My dad and I met with Molly at the office of THE NORTH BEACH News paper. In which she had a column, which made us think she was VERY KNOWLEDGABLE about computers. We discussed, buying a computer with her.
I told her I thought about buying a computer through someone else but they hadn't called me back she then told us we shouldn't go through that person because she has to clean up a lot of his messes and we shouldn't go through a company like dell or gateway because we wouldn't have a tech when ever we need it nor as close as she is if we needed immediate help.
If I bought one through her she would back it all the way 100%, if I had any problems she would come over and fix it, with no problems.
Because when you buy a computer from her she likes to check up on them and it's like being stuck with her.
Weasked about getting the strongest D-Link card we could get for networking she said that wasn't a problem but she thought she could get an even better one that would work fine. We then agreedthat would work fineto get a different one as long as it will work SHE SAID: SHE SAID SHE COULD GET IT TO WORK. IT WAS COMPATABLE.
WE ALSO AGREED ON PENTIUM 4 - I thought a 2.4 GHZ but she put down 2.0 GHZ PROCESSER 60GB HARD DISK DRIVE 7200 RPM, LINKSYS WIRELESS PCI ADAPTER, 52X CD-ROM, - A PHONE MODEM - , 1.44 FLOPPY DRIVE, - 512 MB DDR333 MEMORY 400MHZ FSB WINDOWS XP AND A KEYBOARD WITH VOLUME CONTROLS ON IT.
She said I would have to pay up front for it so she could build it and it would take two weeks I said okay so it should be ready OCT. 3, 2003 SHE SAID YES.
I said that was fine I would bring her a check as soon as I got off work I asked do you take charge cards or check? SHE SAID I WOULD GET IT FASTER WITH A CHECK BECAUSE THE CREDIT CARD WOULD HAVE TO PROCESS FIRST, WHICH TAKES A FEW DAYS TO DO.
So I trusted her and dropped off a check at the office that night when I got off. She said she would call me and let me know when the parts were in then it would take a week.
She also told me when I see her at the bowling on league night not to ask her about how the computer was coming along I could say the word computer and she would give me a thumbs up or thumbs down. I figured okay she just didn't feel like discussing work when she was off.
9/19/2003~~~ I called her the next day at her shop (home) and talked to her about getting a 2.4 CPU PROCESSOR. She said not a problem. It would be better.
10/3/2003~~~ The computer wasn't ready yet she was having trouble with it.
10/6/2003~~~ She came with the computer but was still having trouble with it. She worked on it for about an hour.
It came with WINDOWS ME INSTEAD OF WINDOWS XP, - BECAUSE SHE SAID HER DISK FOR XP DIDN'T WORK SO SHE PUT Windows me in instead.
BUT told me I COULD BUY A NEW Windows xp, FROM HER BUT SHE WASN'T SURE HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE FOR ME TO GET IT.
That was supposed to be included with the computer. That wasn't mentioned I had to pay extra for the operating system. WINDOWS XP was suppose to be include in the price, Now she wants me to buy a copy for her, so she can put it on this computer. Windows XP Cost on average $189.00.
She thought that might be while she was having trouble getting the networking card to work.
I asked if I go buy windows xp would it then work. When I asked how long it would take to get it she said I WAS SPOILED.
She thought she got it up and working then left and took my old computer with her because she agreed to clean it up since I spent so much money.
We then realized the computer wasn't online it was working offline. My dad and I tried to go into different things but kept getting a COULDN'T GET hardly anything to work right. ALOT OF STUFF we tried to open. LIKE MICROSOFT WORD -- EXCELL, -POWERPOINT - AND MORE.
It was asking for a license number. But we didn't get one when we got the computer from Molly.
10/7/2003~~~ I TRIED TO CALL, BUT DIDN'T GET ANYONE INSTEAD GOT A MESSAGE THAT HER SHOP WAS CLOSED TILL THE 10/13/2003.
So My Dad thought that we should try to get the old computer back before it was messed up to much. So I could at least be able to get on line to do my ebaying.
So my dad and I went over to her shop (HOME) and asked her for my old computer back so I could at least get online it may have been very slow but it worked. I then could at least do my banking and bills She said that was fine and went out to her car and got it for me I was surprised when it was in the car still but I guess I may not hurt it.
WE THEN ASKED HER ABOUT THE NEW COMPUTER BECAUSE WHEN WE PULLED UP THE SYSTEM PAGE
(A) (DEVISE MANAGER) IT SAID - 480 RAM'S OF MEMORY, SHOULD HAVE SAID 511 RAMS
(B) THERE WAS NO HELP FILE, WINDOWS WAS MISSING FILES
(C) THERE WAS NO RECYCLE BIN.
(D) WE RAN THE NORTON VIRUS SCAN ATTENTION NEEDED CAME UP ON THE SCREEN. AUTO PROTECT SAID 1 ERROR FOUND.
(E) WE ALSO ASKED ABOUT 5.5 INTERNET BROWSER WHY IT WASN'T 6.0.EXPLORER. BECAUSE 5.5 WAS AND OLD EXPLORE PROGRAM. AND THIS IS SUPPOST TO BE A NEW COMPUTER.
(F) NETWORK PLACE HAD NOTHING BUT SECURITY WARNINGS.
(G) WE ALSO ASKED ABOUT GETTING A RESTORE DISK OR AN OPERATING DISK- AUTHINTICITY NUMBER AND MICROSOFT LICENESS NUMBER.
(H) SHE SAID TO LEAVE THE COMPUTER THERE AND SHE WOULD WORK ON IT. AND ABOUT THE NUMBERS AND DISKS WE WANTED
(I) SHE SAID :SHE ISN'T DELL OR GATEWAY SHE DON'T NEED TO GIVE THEM OUT WITH THE COMPUTER THERE FOR WE WOULD NOT BE GETTING ANYTHING.. BECAUSE SHE BACKS HER PRODUCTS 100% PLUS.
(J) According to Windows xp & Microsoft,- it is not a legal copy of Windows, IF THERE IS NO CERTIFCATE OF AUTHENITCITY OR A LIC THAT COMES WITH ANY NEW COMPUTER. DON'T MATTER HOW BIG OR SMALL THE COMPANY MAY BE. IT IS ILLEGAL TO SALE A COMPUTER WITH OUT THIS. TO ASK FOR YOUR MONEY BACK.
10/8/2003 ~~~ She Call that afternoon said she was going to drop off computer before she went bowling that night, because it was ready.,
10/8/2003~~~ She called and left a message that the computer wasn't readyat 5:30 she would bring it over after bowling.
I called up my sister at the bowling alley on her cell phone to see if molly had said anything to her about bringing over the computer so I new rather I needed to stay up late or not being it was already 10:00.
She handed Molly the phone and Molly said she thought it would be done about 12:30 in the morning she could bring it over then I said that was okay she could bring it over in the morning. She then said how about 5:00am I said that would be fine because I get up at 4:30 for work anyway.
10/9/2003~~~ She showed up around 9:30-10:00 with windows XP in it now. She set the computer up and was still having to work on it because it was still not working properly.
SHE ASKED ME TO SIT DOWN AND TOLD ME I MAY HAVE TO CALL (That person in that she said earlier her was having to clean up his mistakes),
To have the Networking hooked up.
While my dad was standing there, she told us she doesn't know anything about networking. I THEN ASKED? IF SHE COULDN'T GET IT WORKING Right COULD I GET A REFUND??
She blew off the wall at me yelling inappropriate language in my house so I asked her to leave.
I SAID You come into my house a couple days ago telling my whole family you're a Christian and the you come into my home and disrespect me. I'm really glad my kids aren't home to hear it.
SHE THEN SAID YOU! AS IN AMY, DON'T UNDERSTAND SHE IS DOING THIS ON HER OWN TIME. YOUR EXPECTING WAY TOO MUCH FROM ME.
I SAID YOU HAD TIME TO TAKE AN ORDER FOR A COMPUTER.
HAD TIME TO GET MY CHECK AND CASH IT THE NEXT DAY.
!! BUT NOW YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO GET IT WORKING.
YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND she said.
I ASKED HER TO SIT DOWN; SHE THEN YELLED AT ME I'M NOBODY'S SLAVE.
SHE SAID SHE WOULD LEAVE AND COME BACK WHEN I WAS READY TO TALK
I SAID I WAS READY SHE STILL WASN'T CONVIENCED
I SAID IT REALLY WASN'T FAIR THAT I WAS BEING LEFT WITH A COMPUTER THAT WASN'T FULLY WORKING
So she sat down and worked on it, still couldn't get it networking to work.
I SAID DON'T WORRY RIGHT NOW I WILL GO UP ON COMPUSERVE. IF YOU CAN PUT IN THE PHONE MODEM
(That should have be in already)(She said, she would get one & put it in)
She asked for forgiveness and a Hug. Then asked if I would give her a good reference.
I asked about the cpu chip she said, she would get back to me on it then left and said she may have to comeback and reroute all the computers just to get mine working.
(((((She told us, she didn't know anything about networking. My Dad said no way this lady was going to touch his network after all he witness happening,)))))
10/20/2003~~ I CALLED HER - IT HAD BEEN ABOUT WEEK AND A HALF LATER.
She said she didn't' have it yet, I said do you know how long it would be the computer was no faster then the old one and I haven't been able to get it working on line or on ebay.
IN WHICH I HAD STRESSED TO HER THAT WAS WHY I WANTED IT
WAS TO SPEED THE PROCESS UP.
SHE SAIDL(((NOT TO CALL HER))) SHE WOULD CALL ME WHEN THE CHIP CAME IN.
I asked her if she could come over and change it, when it came in, so I wouldn't loose the computer again. Or if I could have someoneelse put the chip in?? SHE SAID, NO if anyone else went in to it the warrenty would be no VOID. SHE SAID ((("IT'S NOT LIFE OR DEATH"))). I USED MY SAVINGS TO BUY THIS COMPUTER. $913.64 is a lot of money to be throwing away on a computer that does not work right, & hasn't work right since the day she dropped it off at my home & a warranty that is not worth the paper its written on, WHICH WASN'T WRITEN, JUST A VERBAL ONE. And taught me a lesson, that you can't trust no one. This is a QUOTE from a person at the bowling alley directed at MY SISTER WHILE LOOKING AT ME on 10/29/03. From Molly
10/21/2003~~ I sent Molly an E-mailwith some problems I was having with the computer she sold me due to missing files and never got a response back.
10/26/2003~~ I sent another e-mail to Molly about different E-mails I was having plus included a copy of the first e-mail in case it slipped by unnoticed (((WITH NO RESPONSE FROM HER, yet to dated which now is the 6th of November.
I can't use the A drive, floppy disk drive either I put a disk in and it says it needs to be formatted but yet the computer says unable to format them. The printer was unable to be installed on the computer also.
RECAP SOME OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PROBLEMS WITH THIS COMPUTER.
(1) . Came with Window's Me. Instead of Windows Xp. - Which now has XP in it. But files are missing, so most of the time all you get is error message.
(2) No authenticity certification or lic certificate to show it's a legal copy . Which Microsoft says it must have to be legal. Which Molly insist she doesn't have to & won't give me.
(3) MEMORY RAM'S that this computer came with only 480 & was suppost to be 512. which she did add more memory to get it where it was suppost to be.
(4) Processor , Which is only 1.6ghz. instead of 2.4ghz. which she told me when I asked about it. That she couldn't get the computer to work with the 2.4ghz chip. So she put the smaller one in instead.The written contract she wrote up called for a 2.0ghz.
(5) In a newpaper article she wrote, know which processor speed you want. The bigger cpu chip the better. I payed for bigger, and got smaller.
(6) Network card that will not work on our system which Cost, Around $128.00 I believe she told me. Which I can't get refunded, unless , she can find someone else that may need it.
(7) She had to put in a second video card, Because she said the one that's connected to the motherboard didn't work, so she had to add a new one in. Which would make one thing, this may not be a NEW COMPUTER, BUT A REFURBISHED COMPUTER.
(8) The keyboard she delivery with this computer is not the that was requested AND AGREED ON.
(9) The Mouse she delivery with this computer was not new. It has the word COMPAQ on it. And someone went over the work with a black marker pen, trying to hind it I guess.
(10) All the error messages on just about everything you try to do on it.
(11) A verbal warrenty that she says, She wouldn't leave anyone with a computer that didn't work properly, And that we were stuck with her because that's just the way she is. .ALL I GOT JUST STUCK WITH IS A COMPUTER THAT DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY, AND FALSE PROMISE'S , AND A BUSINESS PERSON , THAT TELLS YOU DON''T CALL ME - I'LL CALL WHEN I'M READY, AND DON'T TALK TO ME IN PUBLIC ABOUT THIS COMPUTER I SOLD YOU.
01/15/2004 After the judgment was maid my dad and I carried the computer out to the vehicle molly was riding in, Molly said she would call us as soon as she had the computer ready.
02/17/2004 I APROCHED MOLLY IN THE BOWLING ALLEY BEING I HAD BEEN INFORMED IN THE PAST NOT TO CALL HER AND SHE HAD WALKED AWAY FROM ME SO MY DAD AND MOM WENT WITH ME AND MY MOM SAID WE JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOUR INTENTIONS ARE. MOLLY THEN SAID OH YOU'LL GET YOUR COMPUTER I TOLD HER I'M NOT TRYING TO BOTHER YOU BUT I WAS WONDERING WHEN I MIGHT I GET IT. BEING IT'S ALREADY PAST THE 30 DAY JUDGEMENT. SHE THEN STARTED YELLING AND CAUSING A BIG SEEN THAT MY PARENTS HAD NO RIGHT TO BE WITH ME IT'S NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS. WE THEN WALKED AWAY AND SHE WAS THEN YELLING FOR SOMEBODY TO COME DOWN WHERE SHE WAS AT AND THEN AS WE WALKED OUT THE DOOR SHE YELLED OUT YOU MAY NEVER GET YOUR COMPUTER NOW .
I called and left a message for molly a couple days later, she then called back to say she was very busy and running behind once again it would be 3 weeks before I got it.
It has now been almost 3 months past the court judgment and still nothing.
WE HAVE SINCE THEN BEEN TOLD BY OTHER PEOPLE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO THEM FROM MOLLY'S PC SHOP.

I USED MY SAVINGS TO BUY THIS COMPUTER. $913.64 is a lot of money to be throwing away on a computer that does not work right, & hasn't work right since the day she dropped it off at my home & a warranty that is not worth the paper its written on, WHICH WASN'T WRITEN, JUST A VERBAL ONE. And taught me a lesson, that you can't trust no one. This is a QUOTE from a person at the bowling alley directed at MY SISTER WHILE LOOKING AT ME on 10/29/03. From Molly
10/21/2003~~ I sent Molly an E-mailwith some problems I was having with the computer she sold me due to missing files and never got a response back.
10/26/2003~~ I sent another e-mail to Molly about different E-mails I was having plus included a copy of the first e-mail in case it slipped by unnoticed (((WITH NO RESPONSE FROM HER, yet to dated which now is the 6th of November.
I can't use the A drive, floppy disk drive either I put a disk in and it says it needs to be formatted but yet the computer says unable to format them. The printer was unable to be installed on the computer also.
RECAP SOME OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PROBLEMS WITH THIS COMPUTER.
(1) . Came with Window's Me. Instead of Windows Xp. - Which now has XP in it. But files are missing, so most of the time all you get is error message.
(2) No authenticity certification or lic certificate to show it's a legal copy . Which Microsoft says it must have to be legal. Which Molly insist she doesn't have to & won't give me.
(3) MEMORY RAM'S that this computer came with only 480 & was suppost to be 512. which she did add more memory to get it where it was suppost to be.
(4) Processor , Which is only 1.6ghz. instead of 2.4ghz. which she told me when I asked about it. That she couldn't get the computer to work with the 2.4ghz chip. So she put the smaller one in instead.The written contract she wrote up called for a 2.0ghz.
(5) In a newpaper article she wrote, know which processor speed you want. The bigger cpu chip the better. I payed for bigger, and got smaller.
(6) Network card that will not work on our system which Cost, Around $128.00 I believe she told me. Which I can't get refunded, unless , she can find someone else that may need it.
(7) She had to put in a second video card, Because she said the one that's connected to the motherboard didn't work, so she had to add a new one in. Which would make one thing, this may not be a NEW COMPUTER, BUT A REFURBISHED COMPUTER.
(8) The keyboard she delivery with this computer is not the that was requested AND AGREED ON.
(9) The Mouse she delivery with this computer was not new. It has the word COMPAQ on it. And someone went over the work with a black marker pen, trying to hind it I guess.
(10) All the error messages on just about everything you try to do on it.
(11) A verbal warrenty that she says, She wouldn't leave anyone with a computer that didn't work properly, And that we were stuck with her because that's just the way she is. .ALL I GOT JUST STUCK WITH IS A COMPUTER THAT DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY, AND FALSE PROMISE'S , AND A BUSINESS PERSON , THAT TELLS YOU DON''T CALL ME - I'LL CALL WHEN I'M READY, AND DON'T TALK TO ME IN PUBLIC ABOUT THIS COMPUTER I SOLD YOU.
01/15/2004 After the judgment was maid my dad and I carried the computer out to the vehicle molly was riding in, Molly said she would call us as soon as she had the computer ready.
02/17/2004 I APROCHED MOLLY IN THE BOWLING ALLEY BEING I HAD BEEN INFORMED IN THE PAST NOT TO CALL HER AND SHE HAD WALKED AWAY FROM ME SO MY DAD AND MOM WENT WITH ME AND MY MOM SAID WE JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOUR INTENTIONS ARE. MOLLY THEN SAID OH YOU'LL GET YOUR COMPUTER I TOLD HER I'M NOT TRYING TO BOTHER YOU BUT I WAS WONDERING WHEN I MIGHT I GET IT. BEING IT'S ALREADY PAST THE 30 DAY JUDGEMENT. SHE THEN STARTED YELLING AND CAUSING A BIG SEEN THAT MY PARENTS HAD NO RIGHT TO BE WITH ME IT'S NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS. WE THEN WALKED AWAY AND SHE WAS THEN YELLING FOR SOMEBODY TO COME DOWN WHERE SHE WAS AT AND THEN AS WE WALKED OUT THE DOOR SHE YELLED OUT YOU MAY NEVER GET YOUR COMPUTER NOW .
I called and left a message for molly a couple days later, she then called back to say she was very busy and running behind once again it would be 3 weeks before I got it.
It has now been almost 3 months past the court judgment and still nothing.
WE HAVE SINCE THEN BEEN TOLD BY OTHER PEOPLE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO THEM FROM MOLLY'S PC SHOP.
