Ok after writing this report i decided to get smart..i took the car back to my brothers shop and had them put the car up on racks and check everything..which i would like to add *and for most shops is true* did not cost me anything..they looked at the brakes for about 30 minutes went through everything and my brother came back mad as hell .. he told me not only had they put the wrong brakes on my car but they had also resurfaced them so much that the brake pads were barely touching the rotors. i said ok can i get it in writing so he got the owner of the shop terry to put it in writing and also jotted at the bottom recommended to call B.A.R. *Bureau of Automotive Repair* so when i got home i called the midas and told them what i had found and that i had gotten a second oppinion on it. they told me to come back in again. and gave me the district managers number well guess what . called him set up for him to come to the shop that saturday and be there while they repaired my car. he never showed and also i called back the number from the shop and the line had been disconnected i went off. i had not glazed the brakes and that no matter what if your brakes make noise when you first start off driving from the shop ....THEY WILL CONTINUE TO DO NOT BELIEVE THAT IT TAKES TIME TO WEAR THEM IN....which i was also told approximately 2500 miles to be exact. so i called B.A.R. in riverside and was directed straight away to D.C.A. the *Department of Consumer Affairs.* ok no more than three days later i recieved a letter in the mail asking me if i had the paperwork from the shop(s) that i had visited along with the numbers n stuff. see not only did midas mess up on my brakes but on my paperwork. looking back at it as i was getting ready to send it to dca i noticed the milage on my paperwork. it was the same on both i was like whoa. so i called my brothers shop and he said that nothing on the paperwork had to be right except for the milage and that the simple fact that they had messed that up also was a no no. so on back to the dca stuff. i mailed and faxed them the paperwork from midas and three days later got another letter with the lawyer they had assigned to midas robert jeffereys. no money out of my pocket. i called him and explained to him what had happened and went over the paperwork with him. that same day he called midas and got back to me called me at work and said that midas would replace the brakes calipurs and rotors with dealer ones for free inc. no labor cost. i agreed and robert jeffereys told me if i had anymore problems to contact him again. so i took the car back to midas that weekend. guess who wasnt there. the manager carl allen and the worker that had worked on my car both times . i asked about this and got the answer they do not work here anymore. cause vw brakes and rotors and calipurs are pretty expensive esspecially dealer ones. They replaced the brakes and rotors n stuff n less than 40 minutes. i was like ok are you sure they are ok and he said yes they are fine. go drive the car and if you are not completely satisfied come back . so guess what new brakes n all. Not one noise!! and its a month later....just goes to show you that the little shops and a second oppinion can go a longggg way. I RECOMMEND IF ANYBODY OUT THERE PAID ALOT FOR NOTHING FROM MIDAS CALL D.C.A. GREAT BUREAU AND WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ALL.. also would like to give a little thanks to the second manager at midas at the listed location. his name is gary he was awesome and fast and even called to see if everything was ok. i think that maybe midas should replicate him and put him in all there shops....thanks heather aka no more noise
