Jet Ski Records Micro version
Metro Motorsports (MM)
10/11/01-I drop off Jet Ski to have the carb jets changed for the altitude in Phoenix.
10/18/01-I paid $217.09 for carb inspection/rejetting, pick up the Ski and it doesn't run.
10/23/01-I brought the ski back to the dealership.
11/6/01-MM calls and gives me an estimate for $250.00 to fix the carbs on the Ski.
11/16/01-MM calls and tells me that the carbs are done BUT the engine is blown up.
01/26/02-I pick up the Ski, have it winterized and put it in the garage.
4/22/02-I take the ski to the lake and it doesn't run.
-I brought the Ski back to MM that same day.
4/27/02-Todd from MM called and said that the carbs need to be rebuilt. $290.00 to fix carbs.
5/18/02-Todd from MM called and said that the carbs had been fixed but the ski is overheating real bad.
5/21/02-I take the ski to another dealer.
6/08/02-The dealership says, The noise your hearing is piston slap & they want to tear down the engine
to see what parts needed to be replaced. I said what happened to it overheating? They said that the inlet hose on top of the motor was lose (bad clamp) and water was leaking into the Ski hull. It was obvious-the hose is on top of the motor and in plain view. They fixed the clamp/leak. The real problem was the fact that the piston was slapping inside the motor-easily heard. They need to tear the engine down and figure out what parts need to be replaced. (Note that MM installed this clamp)
6/13/02-Dealer calls back with estimate to repair Ski ($1012.20). The motor broke because the carbs
were not adjusted properly and the engine was running too lean.
6/17/02-Gal from Sea Doo warranty called to say that the engine broke because MM had misadjusted
the carbs and therefore it was MM fault that the ski broke and repairs would not be covered under warranty. She told me to call MM about their reimbursing me for the cost of the engine. I asked her to fax me a copy of Sea Doo findings.
6/19/02--Luis from MM called me back and gave me a lot of technical excuses why their shop did not
do anything wrong and told me that he would look into the problem and get back to me next week (never heard from him again).
7/10/02-I pick up the Ski and pay $1,119.32 for the repairs to the Ski and put it for sale.
I have since filed a law suit against this company so I could only print the factual details on this report. However, I will be putting the complete story on the report in the near future.
Be aware that this company is not listed with the AZ Corporation Comission, State Business Licensing Department, Secretary of State, or any other state agencies I contacted as a business in he state of Arizona. I was contacting these places in an attempt to try and track the owner of MM so I could have him served with court papers.
The BBB had the only listing for MM and it's CEO, primary contact, and designayed customer relations contact (seriously, is it funny that it is impossible to track down the owner/customer relations contact for this company-and most of the state agencies don't even have the company listed as opperating in the state of AZ--just what are they trying to cover-up).
A little more info. MM reports that they are owned by Arizona Motorsports Group but none of the above state agencies had a listing for them either.
Major warning. The same company that owns MM (Arizona Motorsports Group) also owns USA Motorsports in Avondale, AZ; Town & Country Motorsports and Vicory BMW in Chandler, AZ; Metro Motorsports and Glendale Harley Davidson in Glendale, AZ; Desert Motorsports in Scottsdale, AZ; Tucson Motorsports, Tucson Cycle & SKi, and Harley-Davidson/Buell of Tucson in Tucson, AZ.

CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business?
