Meineke Car Care Center Forgot to replace oil cap and tried to rip off my daughter Summerville South Carolina

A few months ago I took my 2008 Suzuki SX4 to Meineke off Old Trolley for a regular oil change. It took a little longer than usual but I didn't think anything of it, paid for it and left. I work from home and don't drive around very much, just errands in town. After about a week when my car started to smell of burned oil it took me a day or so to realize what it might be. I opened the hood and noticed the missing oil cap. Oil had splashed all over the motor and started to smoke when the motor heated up. Lluckily I noticed it before the motor burned up. I returned to Meineke and they gave me a card of a free oil change and cleaned up the motor compartment with a power washer.
Fast forward a couple of weeks and my daughter is getting ready to drive from Summerville to Colorado. She doesn't have a lot of money so I offered her the free oil change card. She drives a 2002 Chevy Malibu and just had the brake pads, calipers and rotors fixed/replaced at a different shop in town. Anyway she went into Meineke by herself and dropped off the car under the assumption they would give her a basic oil change, telling them she was leaving town the next day.
After a late lunch she called to find out if the oil change was done. She was shocked when they told her that she can't drive the car since the brakes are bad and she needed to have them fixed immediately. Since I was still with her at this point I went into Meineke ahead of her and asked them what was going on. The guy at the register looked starteled and told me that the brakes were bad, leaking fluid and I should come in the back to take a look since the car was still hoisted up. To make a long story a little shorter, the brakes didn't leak at any time before or after taking them to Meineke.
There was absolutely nothing wrong with the brakes at all.
They tought they had a little blond girl in their shop they could screw over. I happened to see the original estimate they made for her and it was for over $3,000. If I had not been with her that afternoon they would not have let her leave unless she had them fix at least the left side brake and she would have spent a minimum of $300 on a caliper that didn't need replacing. They were scaring my daughter so badly telling her what might happen if she drove the car. I ended up talking to the manager and the owner and they both apologized, for all that's worth.
Funny thing, the next day my daughter was driving on the interstate and after about 20 miles the car started to overheat. It had never overheated before so we think that the guys might have messed up something, of course we can't proof this. My daughter ended up taking my car, the Suzuki, to Colorado and we sold the Malibu for next to nothing a week later.
DO NOT use Meineke Car Care Center if you value your car. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.
I will never use another Meineke ever again!

Salutations! I am a victim too! Except due to Meineke's negligence the new coolant system they installed melted and the engine burned out. They also installed a broken headlamp and painted over some lights. Please review my complaint on Ripoff Report and contact me. In spite of the fact that the owner is a retired attorney, I have decided to file suit in regular superior court for damages and punitive damages. I am not a lawyer but i will folliw through.
