Chase is a fool. The reason tire companies buy one or two certain types of tires exclusively is because they get them adjusted, or get their money back. that means that the tire company gets money back for damaged tires. so the $34 you paid was pure profit, not to mention they got additional money back from Toyo for the damaged tire. shame on LS, thats why they can afford to open 400 stores. LS screwing one customer at a time. eventually they will run out of customers to screw and go out of business.

So, you noticed my update where Les Schwab installed the right sized tire on my car.... well, a few days later I lost the hubcap off of that tire driving on the highway because they failed to reinstall it correctly. In addition to that, I took my car into Midas for an oil change and general inspection, asked them to look into why it felt as though my car was riding funny. They said it was because 3 of my tires had 9/32" of tread.... the one replaced by Les Schwab is 5/32"!!! They didn't even give me a comparable tire for a replacement! Les Schwab has lost my business, and I will make sure to tell everyone I know how I have been ripped off and treated poorly by them.

I used to put 'Schawbies' on my car for many years, then a few years ago they reneged on my 'included services'. But as for the spare tire, they may have checked it last fall. Two things come to mind. First, from last fall to this late winter is several months, and even a good tire will loose a little air over time (my tires loose about 1 psi/mn). The other factor is temperature. If the tire was checked at a time when the temperature was higher, the colder temp reading will be lower (the rule is a loss of one psi for each drop of 10 degrees F.). So put the two factors together, the tire may have been checked last fall.

After all I went through Monday, not long after I filed the original Rip Off Report, I noticed that they hadn't even put the right tire on! The new tire was about 1 size larger than the rest of the tires on the car! I went BACK into Les Schwab last night, let the guy behind the counter know that I had already wasted time there earlier in the week, had been treated badly, I just wanted the right tire on my car, and I was NOT HAPPY about the situation. I was in and out of there in 15-20 minutes, with the right sized tire on my car. So I ask Les Schwab tire centers: Now was that so hard?

The Les schwab store has to absorb or "eat" the cost of all road hazard warranty claims. The manufacture of the tire does not cover any of the cost or even chip in a few bucks. So basicly thats money out of the store. Money out of the employee's bonus and the managers bonus. So what the store policy the last few years has been to tell the cuntomers that they must have hit a curb or a big pothole thus voiding the warranty on the tire. Or they will try to tell you that the tire was probably vandalized by someone , thus voiding the warranty. I know all the lines becouse I worked for the company for over 10years. I myself never did this, and was called into the office many times for doing too much road hazard warranty servive. I was told to cut down on the costs and to try to work the customer into at least paying a 50-50 split on the tire. I was let go 2 years ago and told I did things that cost the store too much money. Very sad becouse this company was never like this in years past.
