2 incidences means I wont be going back.

first=

had original RARE 1955 dually chevy 19.5" set of 6 rims powdercoated at TREMENNDOUS expense.

Purchased expensive set of 6 8R19.5 brand new tires.

dropped off vehicle and BRAND NEW powdercoated rims for the tires to be mounted on rims and then wheels mounted on vehicle which drove in on different rims.

got a call a day later(too long) that they could not mount the wheels on my vehicle becuase it was missing parts. not true-they just were unfamiliar with original style rims.

the rims are seated with a special ring that goes over studs to hold wheel on instead of nuts pressing against rim. they said it was not correct and refused to mount wheels.

FINE

so i wrestled the wheels at 130# each up into the truck and took them home.

thats when i noticed that when they mounted tires they used an extremely agressive technique and literally ground the powdercoating off the rims with the tire changer tool. ruined it. at this point i was so frustrated i just didnt want to deal with it.

then i noticed that even though these are obviously dually rims they used short car tire stems... useless.

------

no more

----then i had a pair of rims that i sold that i needed teh tires taken off.

i dropped them off wed morning. they told me (2 tires) that it would be 37$ to remove tires from rims(not on vehicle). fine. i wasnt paying for it(sold rims to another guy) they said it would be ready after 1pm that day(wed)

thursday i still hadnt heard and thought my cell missed a call. at 4pm i went in-nope. still not done.

today is friday. its after 6pm and they are still not done.

tomorrow im going in there, taking wheels, then sending them a bill for my 4 hours of drive time and effort wasted.

They used a machine to mount tires on a 19.5???

You should have you 8R19.5 dismounted to see if they tore your bead when they mounted them up. Those should have been mounted using tire bars, not a machine.

I had the same problem at this store a few years back. I think the asst managers name was Eric. What a jerk. The problem is outdated machines and no training to the 18 year old kids that work there. All the old timers are gone. Sad, when I worked at L.S this never happended. Stay away from L.S if you want the work done right.
