Complaint Review: Lenscrafters - INDEPENDENCE Missouri

I don't know about where you live, but in New York State, a state where the person who takes your measurements MUST be a licensed professional, we are not required to give that information. For example, if you go to another store and want to buy glasses, you can't hand them any information about your measurements. They are required by law to retake them. We cannot fudge these numbers, nor can we accept them from outside sources, so knowing this, an optician has every right to not give your measurements so you can go elsewhere. They are basically protecting themselves.

So I went price shopping and the next day RON conveniently stated that they dont store that kind of information, which was a refusal to my own medical information and a blatant lie." 1- (( 350 $$ ))----Although you do not go into much detail here - in regards to design of lens - and more importantly - "BRAND OF AR COATING YOU ARE COMPARING TO " They are NOT all the same - ! 1st of all - you can not compare on line retailers - to free standing - walk in the door - shops - Yes it is so true you can get almost ANYTHING cheaper online - but they have little to NO over head - they don't need to employ the same level of associates - all they need is an order taker - I don't know this for sure - i am assuming you would be a PT that would purchase say online - or at a DEEP discount retailer - (IE walmart ) _ and then go into these other shops that "usually" have EXPERIENCED staff - and make comments such as - "can u adjust these - " or can you fix these " or better yet - "can you find out why i can not see out of these glasses " -- because i bought these down the rd - but they can nto adjust them to well - or THIs is my only pr - and they are broken - and i can not mail them back - for them to insert the screw - So you need to realize what you are getting when you decide to go to this cheaper route - YOu get what you pay for - and more importantly - YOU are paying also for the exp - and SERVICE level - I am sure that many doctor offices - don't have edgers - and full service labs - that run 100K or more just for machines - and they prob. do not carry even close to the amount of stock - like some larger retailers - 2ndly --- ALL ar coating is NOT the same !!! And there is NO WAY ANYONE CAN JUSTIFY IT IS - although i do not work for the company you site - I am aware of products they carry - and where they are from - and to tell you the truth - out $ at our priv. MD's offices actually are a little higher - since we do not discount ANYTHING - We have one price - and we do not offer say there 30 $ off AAA - or 50 % off replacements - after you doggy eats your glasses - or we do not offer that crazy - "OH if you do not like your glasses - bring them back - we will eat the cost and make you new ones - NO WAY - we could not afford this - and I DOUBT your online retailer - or priv. doctors office offers this either - NOT that i like to stick up for "THem " since we compete with them - however - you need to look at these HUGE costs also - BACK to the AR thing - We offer Crizal Alize coatings for the most part - and do not deal with other cheaper qualitly products - but i know the company you site offer a scotch guard product - and I would say - if you are shopping you need to shop apples for apples - and since there scotchguard product - is made by the same company as CRizal Alize - and they offer the same benifits - ENSURE YOU SHOP FOR the ALIZE with clear guard by NAME !!! You will not find the scotch guard product offered BY ANY 1 else here in the USA - ( Only over seas ) _ since they have a limitted exclusive right to this product - BUT as for shopping around - ensure you price the ALIZE with clear guard product with either polycarb - or 1.67 high index - since this is how it comes - !! LASTLY _ you speak of proffessional measurments being PART OF YOUR MEDICAL FILE - and YOU ARE ENTITLED TO it - ( you even imply you have a right to it under the law - WHUCH U DO NOT !!)- AS for our store - as well as many others - it is ACTUALLY viewed as "COMPANY PROPERTY " - not part of your medical file - SO YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO THE INFO ! It is only a measurment - used to fabricate your glasses - Personally - I will not provide measurments - to pts - and I hold this across the board - ( this goes back to the SERVICE aspect of the price issue you have ) - you should let the place making your glasses do all the work - and take care of you - I do this - mainly - since i have learned my lesson - with a PT trying to return after purchasing glasses elsewhere - saying that I took the PD - and Seg ht wrong - and the retailer they went to would not remake the glasses - since the pt provided the info - and - it was NOT THEIR MISTAKE -- WELL LET ME TELL YOU - IT WAS NOT MINE EITHER _ the PD - and seg ht was correct - however - they neglected to tell me - that they changed their mind on the frame they ordered - and they also neglected to tell me that they where ordering cheap design entry level progressive lenses - !! - so what did they expect - that they would SEE clealry - UNREAL !!!! But back to the subject - thsi pt comes back - demands for us to cover the cost !! - IT got to the pt of the BBB - and I decided to just eat the cost - make them a new set of lenses - just to make things right - and complete the file at the BBB - ALTHOUGH I WAS NOT IN THE WRONG what so ever - BUT as I stated - I learned my lesson quick ! - so therefore this is the policy - NO QUESTIONS ASKED - I would urge you to look at some of the info i provided - and keep a open mind - and look at the big picture - I just think - there are to many customers out there - that if they don't get THEIR way - they come to a site like this - and make it appear that some one did somethng wrong - when in fact they where clearly in the "RIGHT "" Have a great X-mass - - GOD BLESS -
