Lenscrafters is very tricky in the way they price their eye exams, they add on services without letting you know they are additional. They quote you a flat rate then they add 30 dollars for retinal photos that are optional, but they add them on and see if you catch it first then they take it off if you complain.

They also charge fitting fees for contacts which they do not tell you in advance they will be charging you so you go in end up paying twice as much as you intended to.

Optometrists at chain-box opticals are NOT independent and DO NOT control their methods of practice. The obvious proof of this is that LensShafter optometrists work 363 days a year !!! Who would do that if they were independent ?? Answer - no one on this planet or any other planet. They are controlled by "The Short Lease" - though LensShafters themselves negotiate long term deals with mall or strip owners, their optometry rent monkeys are not allowed this. Rather, they are given anywhere from a 12 month (new optomtrist) to 36 month (optometrist they feel will do as they're told) lease. All have an unconditional 60 day out for no cause. So - all they ever have is a 60 day lease.

Via this vehicle their days, hours, fees, etc, etc, etc, etc are kept to LensShafters expectations. Most chain-box sell'em up joints try variations of this. Just a couple of other notes - FeatherWates lenses are just polycarb and not an actual high index lens. Polycarb has the highest abberration of any lens material and causes headaches and eyestrain more than any other. Have them remade if you have these symptoms and fell for this gimmick. Acu-Fit is no more accurate than a pd ruler in a skilled optician's hands. Opto-Map fees should never be paid since they can be billed to insurance if there is a legitimate reason for taking them. If you have normal retinas they don't help then or later and this is why insurance will not pay for them. Have a happy Shafter day - R

Doctors and Lenscrafters are seperate.

Lenscrafters has no say in the pricing at the doctors office. They are two totally seperate businesses. If you have a complaint, wouldn't it be more productive to bring it to the attention of the DOCTORS OFFICE? I think you should get your facts straight before you jump to conclusions.
