Ladyboss, "The First Global Weight Loss System and Support Community for Women" is currently all over Facebook touting its weight loss program.  The ads are pink, flashy and feature their creator Kaelin Tuell Poulin who lost sixty-five pounds in seven months.

The Product

I was intrigued by her catchy Facebook videos that featured different protein shake recipes all featuring her Lean protein powder.  The entire Labs weight loss system is $197 which includes a 30 day supply of: Protein Powder, Pre-Workout, Electrolyte fat burner & sleep supp.  I was interested in changing up my supplements and purchased the entire system. I should have known from the minute I placed my order that I made a mistake.

Signing up for the labs also added me to the LadyBoss marketing list that filled my inbox with long, drawn out emails touting a 7 day transformation system (which I could receive for free...if I gave my credit card number) and a Facebook group that I only had 24 hours to join.  Wanting to give this a chance, I read each email and subscribed to the group.

The "Program"

Though the website looks ten years old, their tracking system is effective and annoying.  Ten emails in my first two days asked why I did not purchase additional products.  I needed to provide a credit card "to ensure I would be committed to the free trial."  Returns were simple and only required a single email.  If I were to unsubscribe to any email, I would unsubscribe from ALL emails including purchase receipts and shipment notifications.

Once accepted to the Facebook group, I realized what a dictatorship this program was.  The introduction video featured a dozen or so "rules" I had to follow and it was clear that negative comments about the program would result in a deleted comment.  The members were promoting their "water fasts" and rice cake recipes (what is this - weight watchers 1985?!?).  The posts were constant, non stop and full of people showing off their weight loss....whether it was due to the program or the water fast induced anorexia, I'm not certain.  After one weekend in the group, I removed myself as I prefer to use my Facebook time watching dog memes and meal prep videos.

LadyBoss Labs

My products arrived relatively quickly and I dove in head first.  I had a lean shake after lunch (as is my routine) and took the burn supplements as indicated.  The texture of the shake was gritty and it was somehow overly sweet and flavorless at the same time.  As suggested on the Facebook group, I mixed the pre-workout Fuel and electrolyte Recover before my spin class and discovered what overly sweet REALLY taste like.  I doubled the water and it was still awful.

Ten minutes into my class, I realized something was terribly wrong.  My stomach was rumbling to the point that I had to end class early and attend to a bathroom issue.  Discouraged, I read through the ingredients in the supplements as they were the only change to my routine and found the culprit - Maltodextrin, a cheap filler that I had cut out of my diet years ago.  Surely a clean "body transformation" program would not include a sugar that is a 105 on the glycemic index (higher than glucose!)....and especially not a $200 program at that.  But there it is - third ingredient in the protein shake (only after the actual protein powders) and again in the pre-workout.

Cancellation Limbo

Day 2 I began my cancellation process that seems to never end.  First, per the policy, I requested a cancellation via their support email.  I should have known there was a problem because they stated it would take 48 hours for a response (Their staff was "too busy" to respond to my inquiry any sooner.) However, they were not too busy to send four marketing emails in that time.  Their response is to send me a cancellation link to stop my subscription to their products.  From that landing page, I was informed that if I cancelled, I could never order their products again....great, because my stomach can't handle any more of your products.  Then I was offered the "opportunity" to order less product...or put my subscription on hold.  No, please cancel.  After indicating I was really sure, my recurring charges were finally eliminated.

But I still had to go through the process of returning this garbage product.  Another email, another three day wait.  I was told I had to mail the product back at my cost.  First, mail the product where - I did not have a shipping label, invoice or any other indication of an address.  Second, even if I were to mail it back, how would Ladyboss know it was my account (see previous - there was not a packing label.) And third, my paying return shipping was not a 100% money back guarantee...that is a partial money back guarantee.

At this point I realized they were making the return process so difficult so an average consumer would give up.

Final Thoughts

LadyBoss Labs does not provide you anything more than a random clerk at GNC could provide.  The weight loss supplements are just cheap powders with pink labeling and the "support group" is not worth your time.  $200 can buy a three months supply of a reputable supplement regimen without rice cakes and water fasts.
