I recently purchased a samsung tv/vcr combination model #cxj1352X/XAA . I purchased this product on 09/06/99 as a christmas present for my children. My children loved this present ,until one day (jan. 2/ 00) ,I tried to turn it off and nothing happened . Then I tried to eject the tape they were watching, and the TV shut off. I couldn't get the tape out . I tried to eject it again and the same thing happened .

By this time I'm wondering why this is happening ,considering this is a BRAND NEW tv. So I tried to take it back to the place of purchase, (BEST BUY), and found out that they don't make refunds after 30 days. Since it was purchased on September 6 this was no good.

My next step was to call the Samsung consumer hotline . When I called the hotline I explained my problem to the representative and he gave me the name and location of the nearest repair shop in my area , that being KRAL ELECTRONICS at 2403 Ogletown Rd.in Newark De. 19711.

One month later I get a call telling me my tv/vcr was fixed . When I went to pick it up , they wanted to charge me $ 77.00 . this was supposed to be under warranty according to the Samsung

rep I talked to, and got all my info regarding where to take it. Even on the repair shops invoice it states that coverage for parts and labor is under warranty.

At this time I am wondering where to turn next , the electronics

shop said, if i get something saying that Samsung will pay for the warranty work they will release my tv.

How DO I GET A NOTE SAYING THIS ? IF THERE IS ANYTHING YOU CAN DO FOR ME IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Dear Victim,

This TV/VCR should have originally been taken back to Best Buy, even though it was over 30 days, give me a break!

They should have never made you go through all this. Best Buy could have very easily given you a new TV and returned the defective one to Samsung.

It's not like you were just trying to return it because you did not like it.

The company that fixed the VCR, KRAL ELECTRONICS is wrong in trying to charge you if they have a sign that states on the repair shops invoice that coverage for parts and labor is under warranty, there will be no charge!

I suggest that you be persistent with Samsung.

Get their fax # and fax them 10 times a day till they call you back. Make sure your phone # and the best time to reach you are on the fax. Also send the fax to the Best Buy store you purchased the item from, fax them 10 times a day too.

I'm sure they will all get the message and will rectify the situation very quickly.
