Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
A Kirby salesman came to our door after 7pm. We were told they weren't selling anything~ Right!!

We ended up paying $1900 for the vacuum. We had no idea we could negotiate so we didn't think about that.

We decided to return the vacuum within the three day window. I tried to take the vacuum to a Kirby shop to return it on the third day, where I was told that I "had to mail the sales receipt to the distributor and call leaving a message on the distributor's phone stating I was returning the vacuum." So I did that.

The distributor never contacted me, so after ten days I called them again and left a couple messages. They did not call me back. I only got an answer when I called from a friend's phone (caller id~ different number!). The distributor told me they hadn't returned my calls because there was no point in doing so. They said the receipt hadn't been signed by my husband (whose name is on the contract) and therefore they weren't going to do anything about it.

The contract was sent within the return period and I left a message stating we were returning it on that day. Shouldn't that be enough? Shouldn't the Kirby lady at the other store have told me my husband had to sign the paper (she looked over the receipt with me and told me to just mail it)?

Has anyone sued them yet? They sure deserve it. Look how many complaints there are.

MAD!

Pretty fishy spouse!

The husband purchased the kirby with his name only on the contract in which he is the responsible party. We have husbands and wifes try to cancel all the time because one wants it and the other doesn't so by law we can only deal with the person on the contract. In this case the wife was not on the contract. She did leave a message on the 3rd day at 7:00p.m on a Saturday saying she was going to return the Kirby. On the contract it states that to cancel the transaction you must sign, date and mail or deliver the cancelation notice before midnight on the 3rd day. We are only open untill 12pm on Saturday not at 7:00p.m. We have to have the signed and dated cancellation notice (that is on the copy that the customer has) for it be valid, because of situations in the past were spouses, friends, etc., try to cancel for others and the other party does not know about it. During this time no response was recived from husband. We did receive the copy of Contract but it was not signed or dated. Kind of fishy, huh? Wife called again and our company responded:we could not discuss the contract with her it has to be with the person on the contract. A man claiming to be the husband did call and left a message 1 week later.Stating to not call him at work, he doesn't get home untill 10p.m and we could talk to his wife,(pretty fishy again). Well were not open at 10:00 p.m.!Wife called again a few days later and was upset and we told her that the contract clearly states how to cancel the transaction. It does not say you can call and just cancel it.We still have the copy and its not signed or dated. She said she was in the millitary and did place a threat against us. Husband has not called and we could not get a hold of him. To sum it allup he is on the contract and he is the responsible one to handle this but could never get in contact with him.Why isn't he throughing a fit like his wife? Again pretty fishy!
