K Hovnanian Homes Forecast Homes Poor Quality-Warranty Complaints Internet
We closed escrow on our Forecast Home (now K Hovnanian) on 1/29/2002. From day one we had nothing but trouble. During our walk through, there were window issues, towel bars and closet doors that were crooked, a whole piece of drywall that was molded in the garage not-to-mention the gasket that was never put in our master shower that proceeded to leak into the kitchen...DOWNSTAIRS.
With every call I placed to the warranty department,the warranty reps would come out and tell me that these were "home owner maintenance issues and not warranty issues". The home was only 5 months old when I decided to file a complaint at the BBB and Consumer Affairs. WOW...did things happen then! All of a sudded I couldn't answer my phone fast enough. After a few of the 11 repairs were done, I let the BBB/Consumer Affairs know and the file was closed. All of a sudden, so did the repairs.
Well, it is now 12/28/2010. We have a leaking roof in the garage, a window that has lost it's vacuum seal and the water hook up at the refrigerator is leaking and has saturated the entire lower half of the wall behind the refriferator. We have placed 4 phone calls, one that was escalated to the manager, and still have had NO return phone calls.
I will be filing another complaint with the BBB and Consumer Affairs and speaking with an attorney this week. DO NOT buy a Forecast/K Hovnanian home!
