Complaint Review: Jones Boys Service Co. - Burnet Texas

I entered into a written contract with Keith Jones, doing business as Jones Boys Service Co.in June 1999.

DOB is July 13, 1967 or 1968

Of course his third? and current wife, Susan, tells me Keith Jones lives with his mom and dad. Keith Jones's parnets, Bill and Shirley Jones, 3132 N. US Hwy 281, Burnet,Tx. says he lives with his wife, Susan. hmmmm?

He was to replace the roof on my house. I foolishly paid him $1,200.00 up front. To make a long story short, he never showed up to do the job. I contacted him time and time again. First Keith Jones had excuses like he was ill, had doctor's appointments, his helper was injured, he had another job to finish first, etc, etc. Our last phone conversation he told me to stop contacting him. When I requested the return of my money, he had the balls to tell me he'd return the money when he was "good and ready"! In my mind that is his acknowledgement that he does owe me my $1,200.00.

NO HELP FROM THE JUSTICE SYSTEM!!!!

I first contacted the judge in my precinct who gave me copies of several laws under which Keith Jones could be prosecuted. At this judge's advisement I took this information ( copy of the laws provided by the Judge) to the County DA's office, Robert Klaeger, Burnet County Attorney, along with a copy of the contract and cancelled check. After several weeks I received a memo from Robert Klaeger stating, " After a review of all evidence, it is my opinion ( Robert Klaeger) that this is not a crimminal matter." What to bet if I were a senior citizen it would be a crimminal matter. After all that would be great PR for Mr. Klaeger. I can see the headline now... "DA Robert Klaeger aids senior citizen"

I filed a complaint with the BBB in Austin, Tx. who in turn sent a letter to Keith Jones. The BBB, a few weeks later, informed me know that Keith Jones did not reply to their letter and I should consult an attorney. Yea, like I have money for that!

I contacted a local TV news station, channel 42 "K-Eye on your side". They told me they couldn't help. Couldn't or wouldn't, hmmmm?

Again I went to my local Judge, who this time suggested small claims court. I returned to the County seat (Burnet, where Keith Jones lives) to obtain the information on small claims court. There I spoke with a judge, who first cationed me on how much I should tell him since the case might be heard in his court. Based on my answers to this Judge's questions, this judge informed me I indeed had a case and that I could file in my town (precinct) rather then that of the Keith Jones. Previously my local judge told me I had to file against Keith Jones in the town Keith Jones lives in. So back to my local judge... who's clerk informed me that they can't help because they can't serve Keith Jones papers, some BS about the "server" does not serve those that live outside of my precinct. As will other servers don't like it when "outside" servers come into "their area". Keith Jones and I live in the same county, and our towns are only 35 miles apart. When I inquired about why doesn't the County Sheriffs office serve the papers? The real run-around, double talk started... and went no where. Unless you call a circle going somewhere.
