On 2-28 I was contacted by John Suzuki of Collateral Trustee Inc out of Chicago about some repairs at a building he owns at 418 N Mayfair Rd. Soon after we met there, and we agreed on some drywall work, rockboard work, and junk removal. I completed the work exactly as requested, properly, and professionally. On 3-11 I sent John the bill with completion pictures. The bill was for the exact $600 I quoted.

Since then I have emailed him on 5-17, and left messages for him on 6-7 and 6-13 about payment. He refuses to return emails or calls.

I’ve run across companies before that routinely figure they can screw the little guy, as it’s not really worth the time to sue someone for a few hundred bucks. But I’m posting this to warn any other companies thinking of doing business with this guy or his company. If he’s screwing me like this, I wouldn’t trust him with anything, and if you’re working for him, better get paid upfront! Thanks John. A quick check and it looks like you're place cost half a million bucks. And you STILL have to screw the little guy?

I guess John took my advice and googled himself. Got a check for the full $600 he owed. Kind of a shame what people have to go through to get paid sometimes. But thank's to ripoff report, I finally got my money.

FINALLY got a hold of Mr. Suzuki, what a jerk!

Well, kind of suprised Mr. Suzuki just now! So, after uncounted unreturned emails and unreturned messages, I did some digging online. I see he's also president of some other company called Storefront Properties Inc. in Chicago. Got the number for that, and called him from a different phone. Presto, HE ANSWERED! Ugh...ugh....  So, he remembered me, and the $600 he owes me. He tried to tell me that some guy in California is supposed to pay me. I told him bs, YOU hired me, and YOU need to pay me. He said something like "are you threating me?. He said that several times. I told him that putting FACTS online is not threatening.

So we've now determined beyond all doubt that this guy knows he owes me, and has decided not to pay me.

So, the PRESIDENT of Storefront Properties Incorporated, as well as the PRESIDENT of Collateral Trustee Incorporated, is saying that he has NOTHING to do with paying the bills for the contractors HE hires, and it's up to some guy in California?

I'd have to call bs on that one John. C'mon, really? But let's say that's true. First off, what kind of company President can't get his company to pay it's bills? Are you really the President? Doesn't sound like you're much in control of anything. Secondly, if somehow your Presidential status still leaves you at the bill paying mercy of "some guy in California", who according to you has my bill and was told to pay it (and obviously decided not to, or doesn't have enough money to) that doesn't make a person very confident doing business with you.

Now, he also brought up an issue of junk removal with this job. It's a long story, but the short version is that I followed his instructions to the letter. John, I REALLY hope you respond to this with whatever side of this story you have in your head. Because I have every email and picture you sent me, and I will respond with EVERYTHING, word for word, in order, with a timeline, nothing omitted. Honestly it's going to make you look like a scatterbrained fool who has no idea what he wants. Go ahead John. Dare ya.

So, the bottom line if you believe him is that John Suzuki, according to him, can't get his company to pay the contractor he, John Suzuki, PRESIDENT OF THE COMPANY, hired. I'd be pretty wary of doing any business with him without getting paid in advance!

Or, if you believe me, John Suzuli hired me, and has simply decided not to pay his bill. Kinda the same conclusion.
