Complaint Review: Jiffy Lube - Bimarck North Dakota

I filed a complaint online with the Better Business Bureau.

The only reason I went to this place was because I was in a hurry to leave town. After my first experiece and reading all the negative reveiws online, I should have known to stay away. Two and a half years ago, I bought a new 2013 Silverado pick up truck and 3 to 4 months later when I went to Jiffy Lube for just an oil change, the employee tried to sell me upgrades that I did not need. He told me that I should have my radiator flushed - and the truck was only 3 months old!! I told him no! 10 minutes later, he walk in to the waiting area and told me that my air filters were dirty and needed to be replaced, again - this is a NEW Truck only 3 months old, I said no!

These people will say anything in order to get you to pay more!! In fact, if you get out of there without spending at least $100 for your oil change, consider yourself lucky! Read the google reveiw from a girl by the name of Serena, they really put the screws to her! December 31st, 2014 around 4:30pm I had my oil changed on my 2013 truck. The guy who waited on me tried to sell me upgrades, when I refused, he then told me there was no oil on the dipstick when he checked it and wanted to perform a flush, I said no. The Jiffy Lube employee then told me about a higher quality oil that was onsale, and then told me it was $25.00 off regular price. I decided to go with the high quality oil.

AFTER my oil change, he hands me a rebate form to mail out and send in for my $25.00! He never told me it was a rebate BEFORE I agreed to use the higher quality oil. The young clerk behind the counter had a smirk on his face as if he was saying "ha! Gotcha!" These people are shady, and this was not my first bad experience. The oil change before this one, there was a african-american paying for his services, as soon as he walked out the door, the Jiffy Lube employees did not see me still waiting in the waiting area and started talking thinking nobody was around to hear them. The employees made racist comments towards him and dropped the N word many times,makes me wonder what they said about ME after I left. I will NEVER be going back here again, the only reason I did on New Years Eve was because they are fast and I was in a hurry to leave town. I hope these people do not have to rely on repeat business!

Update: I first made this post shortly after my experience in January 2015. Jiffy Lube in Bismarck is owned by Brad and Cheryl Hellman. Shortly after I made this post and reported them to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) - Brad and Cheryl's adult daughter, Lindsey Kondos started to harass me by going to several review sites and leaving my OWN business a 1 star rating in RETALIATION to the feedback I left for Jiffy Lube. When I paid my bill at Jiffy Lube, I used my American Express card that had my business name on it. Lindsey Kondos, Brad and Cheryl's daughter lives in Oklahoma and has NEVER been a client of my salon.

Shortly after I contacted the BBB and left Jiffy Lube negative feedback, I started receiving harassing phone calls at my salon from a Oklahoma phone number and the female caller used profanities and hate speech. After I reported this in my complaint with the BBB, Lindsey Kondos quickly removed her reviews she left for my salon off of YELP, but not before I was able to take screen shots of them with my cell phone, along with her facebook profile which displays HELLMEN under her name, to use as evidence. As posted by another person here, the Hellmens also threatened other people for leaving bad reviews, this is not the first time they have exhibited this type of unethical behavior. My advice to everyone is, get oil changed at the dealership where it was purchased.
