On 1/25/15 due to winter storm Juno I had to purchase two new tickets to avoid a weather cancellation. I changed the flight from 1/27/15 to 1/26/15 from JFK to Long Beach, CA. For two people this cost me $1409.76.

jetBlue’s web page on 1/25/15 stated: Due to Winter Storm Juno we will waive change/cancel fees and fare differences for customers traveling on Monday, January 26, 2015 through January 27, 2015 to/from the following cities: New York, NY (JFK).

The original tickets were bought for me as a gift on a different credit card. The new ticket was purchased by me. Getting a refund has been a humiliating experience, holding on the phone for extended periods several different times, being made promises that were not fulfilled, and unprofessional rude supervisors telling me no are just part of the story.

I received $944.88 and was told the $464.88 remainder was put on the original ticket buyer’s credit card. I do not want to ask the gift giver to give me back the money. They will not make the correction or a goodwill credit.

I have been flying with jetBlue since year 2000 and have never been treated with disdain and contempt until now. Another time I needed a refund and it was difficult but nevertheless accomplished.

"Due to Winter Storm Juno we will waive change/cancel fees and fare differences."

These rebuttals are very similar to other complaints. jetBlue customer service reps are employed to discredit their negative reviews.

It doesn't matter how long you have been flying with an airline..if you are wrong..you are wrong.

First of all just the title of your "RipOff" is misleading.  You stated they "failed to refund you".  Well that is not exactly true.  They did in fact issue you a refund of over $900.  The remaining amount was issued as a refund to the person who bought the original tickets.

Next and more importantly it is always amazing how people take the most complicated approach to an issue and then fail to understand why things are not they way they think they are.  As you handled the change incorrectly.  What you SHOULD have done was not buy additional tickets, what you SHOULD have done is to contact JetBlue and have them change your ORIGINAL flight.  They would have then just changed your flight with as they said no additional fees.

The only way I can see you doing this is because you were gambling that the flights would be cancelled and you actually bought the ticket BEFORE they made the official announcement.  But even then you could have called up and only paid the change fees and fare difference and then gotten that amount refunded.

The way you did this, they actually would have had a right to just cancel your entire first flight(remember they removed their cancel fees as well), refund that entire flight back to the original form of payment(the other credit card), and just let you use the new flight crediting you the difference between the first flight and the amount you paid.  So, you are very lucky that they credited you back anything, let alone $944.88.

As for asking the other person for the money.  Well exactly how are you going to explain the credit of over $400 to their card from JetBlue?  Perhaps they can buy a Gift Card or voucher in that amount and give that back to you.  Honestly, they shouldn't mind especially if you explain the reason.

Now, in the end if they end if you keep after them and the end up crediting you the full amount consider yourself extreamly lucky.

Not getting your way is NOT disdain OR contempt. Thankfully YOUR ignorance is CLEARLY shown. Did you forget? Most people pay these with a CREDIT CARD!!! Meaning that they may have had no choice BUT to refund it to the original account that it came from. THAT is a condition of the CREDIT CARD COMPANIES and NOT JetBlue. But YOUR self entitelment wont let YOU see past YOUR own ignorance. Got over yourself there princess. the world REALLY DOESNT revolve around YOU no matter what YOU think or have been told. Just because a company cant meet YOUR demands, doesn't mean that there was ANY disdain OR contempt. If THAT MANY people have told YOU no, then don't YOU think YOUR request is beyond THIER ability to fulfill?? NOPE!!! Once again YOUR self entitlement issues rear its horribly ugly head. Get over it and move on!! NOT GETTING YOUR WAY IS NOT A RIPOFF!!!! When are you mouth breathers going to realize this??
