Complaint Review: JEROME NASH. - Los Angeles California

Jerome Nash and his way of doing business as Landlord.

I was looking for an apartment, in one of oceanside parts of Los Angeles. The one I found- was least expensive in the area, across the street from the beach and advertised as "no credit check". (strange, but none of my business, I thought) $1000 non-refundable deposit was demanded, to "secure my place" in the line of other "tenants". (rolling my eyes, thinking "gee...business is that bad?or ?) If you change your mind- you're not getting it back, se la vi, and you lose it all. (What desperation does to people- its a life story for many.)

This app building has no roof. Literally. 3 floors, and above- just another balcony and that's it, no walls around it, no roof, nothing. Looks like it was a left-over from previous demolition site. But what do I know about building codes and structures..

So, I moved into 1bd 1bth app for $2500 per month. It was doable and the most important for me - near ocean. In a month or so, huge construction site became alive, and I mean -"Alive" with heavy excavators, ground drilling pounding equipment, tall crans moving blocks and things above our "roof", trucks taking out dirt all day long,and huge crew, mostly shouting, starting 8AM even on Saturday. Needless to say- I was screwed and stuck with 1 year lease (I never actually got papers for). Except painted walls, this building had nothing new or fixed. Building structure- is shifted off its vertical position in such way, that elevator is getting stuck constantly and doesn't work most part of the year. My Balcony door is creating a hole between itself and adjacent wall. Rain waters (during winter times) are pouring down Entrance on 1st floor near mail boxes making paddles. Ceiling and walls are bubbling with leaking water. Garage walls and floor- are abandoned since 1960th (no kidding). Nothing gets done, except new paint at the end of rain season. Oh... a new elevator cabin was installed, but it's getting stuck constantly, as old one, and not working for a month now. Laundry room is pretty bad looking, stinking, with parrished screens and dirty floor. Despite the mess-I'm trying to enjoy myself and my visiting on weekends family....until my bank account got empty... very fast, with no record of all my deposits, but with deducted (twice) withdrawals, on top of Landlord's cashed checks. Wells Fargo Bank couldn't help me, saying there were many out-of-the-state charges, and asking me for proof of my checks been cashed, because they don't copy checks for record.(????) I tried fixing this problem many times, with record of transactions, "W-2 and 4" forms from places of work for, monthly spending reports... Nothing worked...(long story short)

Managers and "Earth God" himself, started harassing me about rent in a "cobra-rabbit" way, that I couldn't think straight, couldn't work, was afraid to pick up the phone.... Jerome was screeming at me and calling me a layer and telling me I didn't pay all my rents for last year..Now, try to proove it with no resiepts..

I was running around town, asking people for money loans, getting some, paying them partial, and getting only  texts on my phone, as receipts, with no other proof of pay.

I changed banks,stopped debit cards,.. open new ones....nothing helped. My cable company was fixing my failed internet, asking me How many people and devices I had on my account, with "raised brow" voice. When technician came to fix cable- he found it on the roof, not even attached to my apartment. But what was I connected to all this time? He couldn't tell. My e-mail address was hacked. Emails from Banks- fraud. painted over with BS charges...hundreds of them.. E-mails from my Job search agents- dropped dead after one connection. Tons of scum sent to my connections and friends from my FB account, etc... When manager came demanding rent, I was 1 month late and going 2nd month with no pay, but planning new job interview next day. He warned me about eviction process, and I told him to just do whatever they need to do, but leave me alone with my job and bank research. In couple of weeks, man came, serving me with papers. I search LAcourt site- no case matching. OK, another scare, I thought. And then, it was almost a piece for a while. I send Jerome a full payment for 1 month and partial for second, promising to catch up, and in 2 month- pay the rest and be even.

 I got Sherrif warning about evicting me in 5 days. It was on 7/31/2018. Still hanging there and need help. G.M.

p.s. there is so much more to it, I cant get to the bottom of it myself..
