Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

February 9, 2019 we needed a car, We choose JD Byrider because of our not so good credit. On February 27,2019 it was in the shop for a passenger side windshield washer sprayer. Then 6-7 months later on August 16, 2019 the Jeep broke down on I-70 leaving us stranded we had to coast down the hill to the dealership to drop it off at the shop.

A week later we had not heard anything so we called and the girl who answered said there was not a service ticket for the Jeep? We hung up minutes later Jeff from the service department called back and said the Jeep needed a new transmission and it had not arrived yet. I asked for a loaner and Jeff rudely said we don't normally do loaners but in this case ok.

We get the loaner the check engine light is on in the loaner giving me more anxiety. We had the loaner for a week and a half did not hear anything so we called on August 27, 2019 Josh said the Jeep was done and he was going to drive it home one more night to check it is running right?? We pick the Jeep up on August 28th 2019 only for the Jeep to die out again, we had to take the Jeep back on August 29th 2019.

Later that day Josh called and said it was the crankshaft sensor and they replaced it Jeep is ready. We pick up the Jeep drive it 2 days and on August 31,2019 it broke down again we then drop it off at the dealership again to be serviced. A week later September 6, 2019 we made the decision to voluntarily surrender the Jeep for mechanical issues Now unfortunately they are holding us responsible for the debt and also ran our credit again without our consent.

We need help we have been living a nightmare and they are not being kind and are lying to the BBB and everyone I have placed a complaint with. Note the service department also lost our key's which had our gas cap key on it leaving us with no gas cap key and no working key for the hatch back.

You Caused a Lot of Problems Here

Well, I guess for starters, Jeeps are not necessarily very reliable cars.  They ride rough, they break down, and the transmissions aren't as good as they should be.  If you were counting on this car for reliable transportation, you should have chosen something else.  However....

A week later September 6, 2019 we made the decision to voluntarily surrender the Jeep for mechanical issues Now unfortunately they are holding us responsible for the debt and also ran our credit again without our consent.  I don't hear of too many people who will surrender a car because of mechanical issues; they generally will surrender a car because they can't afford the car.  Perhaps that's the same thing in your case.  Surrendering the car is the same thing as a repossession - whether you do it voluntarily or not is irrelevent.  You are still responsible for the debt on the vehicle - now they can fix and sell the car.  Any deficit between the debt and what they can sell the car for, is what you will generally be responsible for.

I would not worry about whether they've run your credit again.  You went to these people because your credit already showed you were deadbeats, and you simply continued your deadbeat ways by surrendering the vehicle.  I mean why complain about whether they ran your credit again without your consent when you've proven time and time again that you aren't worthy of taking on any debt.  Perhaps taking some responsibility for your actions would have been a better choice.

I also don't know what you expect from the BBB or anyone else who you filed a complaint with, including this site.  The BBB and others have no authority to step in on your behalf and argue your case.  They can only list your complaint and any response from the business.  If you think they're lying, then that's too bad.  Think again about why you went there in the first place.

You Can Forget The BBB!

The BBB is NOT part of ANY government body or law enforcement authority. The BBB cannot force any business to do anything. Lying to the BBB carries the same amount of importance as lying to the ants in the street.

The ONLY purpose of the BBB is to SELL their PHONY "accreditations" and PHONY "ratings" to ANY business which wants to buy them. The BBB goes to great lengths to DECEIVE the public into thinking they are part of law enforcement and have some sort of powers.

That's why they refer to themselves as "the bureau". They think you are too stupid to figure out their con-game.

A "Voluntary Surrender" is just a fancy name for a Reposession. The only difference here is that they didn't have to hunt it down to pick it up. Since it is a Reposession, you are still legally bound to pay off the loan. No longer having the car has nothing to do with this. So yes not only can they still hold you responsible, if you fail to pay off the loan they can file a suit against you. This could eventually turn into them garnishing your wages.

Now, let's look at why you turned it in. You had one minor issue with a sprayer. Then Six months after you purchased it, your Jeep broke down. As a result they were going to fix it under warranty, and even though you were not entitled to a rental they provided one for you. You then had a couple other issues, which again since you didn't mention anything about having to pay for it we can figure was again under warranty. Inconvienient...Yes. Valid reason to try and get out of the loan..NO.

You were already with a Sub-Prime Dealer because you had failed to prove you can handle credit. This action of yours is a sure guarantee that you will continue down this road for quite a while.
