I was selling a car and was contacted by a saleman at "itmotors". The company changed names during the two weeks that followed.

I was told I could list my car for 90 days for $300 and at that time choose to either continue listing the car until sold, or get a "full refund". I asked at that time if the "full" refund was $300 and they said "yes, minus a forty or fifty dollar fee". The fact that the fee was not mentioned should have clued me in, but I went ahead because $50 to list it for three months wasn't a bad deal anyway.

A few days before my 90 days was up I had received NO legitimate leads for selling my car. That's fine; blame it on the market. So I contacted SellItNowMotors to ask what forms and documentation would be needed to get my refund.

They replied that I WAS NOT ELIGIBLE for a refund because I had not filed a "REFUND-REGISTRATION" form within 7 DAYS OF PLACING MY AD. That was ridiculous. I had done everything over the phone and was told I could receive the refund after 90 days. They said in my "welcome email" there was a link to documentation about the "registration". I read over their terms and they have two sections "eligibility" and "refund process". Eligibility does not mention the registration; that's in the "process" section, which I didn't read at first because I wasn't in the process of getting a refund at that time.

Now I'm having to file reports and talk to lawyers to fight for my money, which will likely be used up in the process.

SELL IT NOW MOTORS IS A SCAM. DON"T USE THEM!!!

A lawyer may end up with my $250 refund, but not these guys.

We do offer a 90 day money back guarantee program. The terms and conditions are available on our website at www.sellitnowmotors.com. They are clearly listed on the homepage. We also email them to every customer when they list with us. The customer is required to complete two forms. This customer admits to receiving the information, but neglected to read through it. The terms are only slightly over a page long. We have attempted to make this information as clear and available as possible, but we cannot ensure that every customer will utilize this and there is absolutely no way that we can enforce it. Just as any company requires certain paperwork for a rebate or warranty, so do we. Businesses must also protect themselves. Without these forms, every customer could use our advertising services and then be credited back in 90 days and basically receive our services for free.
