I booked a tour through Inertia tours for Spring Break 2009. I scoured the internet to find the best deal, and finally decided on Inertia. When we booked, we chose "Basic Beachfront South". Here is the description of the "Basic Beachfront South" that we booked:

"This beachfront hotel features standard hotel rooms with two queen beds plus a small pull out couch. Great location, on the beach, what more do you need?

We offer this property with as a Sunday ONLY check in / Thursday check out to get this phenomenal rate. Prices include 2 restaurant meals per day per person, plus our souvenir kit & onsite discount program."

It did not have a specific hotel name, but Chad from Inertia emailed me and told me that we would be in the La Copa Inn, which is a pretty nice hotel right on the beach. When we arrived in South Padre, we were informed that our reservation had been moved to another hotel. Not a big deal at first, then we got to the hotel. We were in the Knights Inn.

I am not complaining about that hotel, because the hotel itself was nice. I am complaining because we did not get anything that we booked. The hotel was not on the beach and we did not have a pull out couch like the description states.

We tried talking to Inertia but they told us that there was nothing they could do about it. They gave us complimentary party packages as some sort of condolence. No one bothered to contact us about changing our hotel. If we wanted a hotel not on the beach, we would have booked it ourselves. We booked through Inertia because we thought we would be getting a nice hotel on the beach and all of their discounts and meals.

We talked to many people staying in the hotel with us, and one group paid $500 for their room, and that was for 5 people for 5 nights in a room with a balcony. We paid just over $1,000 for a tiny room for 3 people for 4 nights. I do not expect to believe that all of Inertia's 'incentives' are worth more than $500.

Needless to say, I will not be booking with Inertia again and unless you get your hotel set in stone, I would urge you to do the same. They just take advantage of college kids by making them pay way more than they should.

Misleading / False Complaint

This individual actually booked our walk to beach hotel category - SOUTH - of which the Knights Inn at that time was in that category.

We only began offering a "beachfront hotel category" for Spring - Break (this very year of 2012) which hasn't even taken place.

That's a fundamentally misleading assertion of which I can prove through emails (as well as confirmations) as to what category of property they booked.

Interestingly, that hotel if directed booked (not with us) had a price (even that year) of $299 plus a parking permit fee of $30 plus a wristband fee of $25 per person plus a "refundable" damage deposit of $50 per person (the hotels rarely give those back). In fact, our package price was less that that, and they received sit down, dine out restaurant meals at no extra charge, as well as our onsite discount program and free trip financing.

This individual that posted this also failed to mention that this is our CHEAPEST package / category we offer. We have 4 others that are more expensive/nicer/in better locations. I've always found it interesting that the cheap people are the complainers almost 100% of the time.
