Similar to the other reports here, I've experienced being on the receiving end of aggressive, unethical extortionist practices by Hunt & Henriques who suggest they are lawyers representing my original debt. My original debt is at a tiny fraction of what they have expanded it to through adding various inflation tactics, interest and fees, adding upwards of 8 thousand more.  The same as everyone else, as I attempted to respond to them I received hostile threatening responses and more often was ignored for debt validation requests, for resonable closure.  They took me to court at perhaps the worst time of my life.  I was a graduate student going into my final state licensing exams in the same month as the court date. I didn't have a penny for a lawyer and was intimidated.  I did briefly meet with a low cost lawyer but again just felt overwhelmed when he told me he was $300 an hour. A family member was ill and dying.  As well, what got me into the original debt was a medical emergency. I honestly wonder if they didn't know that. They seem like thugs dressed up in legal language.

When I look back on the whole affair I think we should have laws to protect us from this.  Credit card debt is discharged by law after four to six years.  They entrenched it in a limited civil liabilities case, they manipulated our justice system inappropriately.  They knew that and taunted me with it. 90% of these cases are won by default judgement because people like me are scared to show up and don't know how to fight them.  The laws should do more to protect us.

Given all these reports, I think we could fight back with a class action lawsuit.  I think we should also fight for better consumer laws.  I am now, ten years on, stronger and ready to cope with their ongoing harrassement.    I am going to be getting a lawyer and start to fight this.

I don't think any one of us needs to apologize for our mistakes.  What Hunt & Henriques have done is criminal.
