Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We started with Hughesnet back in August with the promise that the speed was comparable to DSL and that Gen4 was just around the corner...

Wow was I disapointed... This was slower than any dial-up I had ever had and here it was a satellite system.

Round 1: I called customer service spoke to a rep, no results as to why my system was so slow,

they said must be a problem in your home.

So we tried all types of tricks and tweaks and even bought expensive boosters to boost the strength of the signal in our home, side note: they do not offer any type of WIFI. All of this was to no avail.

We contacted linksys to check on the new wifi and boosters, they laughed when we told them we were trying to rectify Hughesnet. The tech said good luck, our equipment is good, but it won't work miracles.

Round 2: Called customer service again, again on hold forever... Told them of continued slow service and the fact that we could not hardly run one device let alone multiple devices. Customer service suggested upgrading the service. And hey Gen4 will be in your area in December. So I bought into the hype. We upgraded to the highest speed and allotment they offered, cause hey, Gen4 is coming...

Round 3: Disconnect my service... Customer service sent me on to a manager to help with my troubles. They gave me free service through December and 20+ free upgrade tokens, cause hey, Gen4 will available in your area the first part of January.

Round 4: here we are January 22 still no Gen4... So called to have it turned off... They billed me $128 on my account yesterday autodrafted from my card. I spoke to the phone jockey and then transferred to a specialist to help me disconnect my service, multiple times she tried the slide of hand "tongue" with well we will give a discount or preferred services as Gen4 is coming soon to your area... BLAH BLAH BLAH...

Now they want me to pay a $355 termination fee. WTH I was livid...

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

THEY SUCK!

Bait and switch crappy service, crappy customer service and they fully believe they have a great system. I went back to Centurylink. The slowest speed I can get with Century link is still faster than Hughesnet Gen4's fastest speed and at a fraction of the cost. We are now back to high speed DSL without Limits. Hughesnet can kiss off they suck!!!

There should be another Class Action Lawsuit I for one would add my complaint to it. I could care less if I got any money back, just for them to lose and and for the exposure of their foul business practices.

Save yourself the headache and stay away from this company.

I read all the negative reviews and ordered Gen 4 Hughes Internet Service anyway.  The Installer came out in triple digit weather.  He was clean and neat and very tech savvy.  He installed everything and had my computers up and running in a couple of hours.  He stayed over a bit to answer all my husbands questions.  I was charged exactly what the sales rep quoted.  I am impressed with the internet reception.  We stream movies, play internet games, and read our Kindle Fire books using this internet access during any kind of weather.  I will keep it for the complete contract agreement.  Sorry to hear about your unfortunate experiences.  Word of advice when breaking a contract agreement with someone who has your credit card info--contact your credit card company first and put a block on any further charges.
