Halifax Communication ripoff catalog folding scam Be wise and don't bother with this company. Fort Lauderdale Florida
I got a letter from this Halifax Communication company sometime in September. Being the trusting fool that I am I sent them a $55 personal check for the entry level folding program. I waited about 2 weeks and discovered in my next bank statement that the check had been cashed but I still had no catalogs to fold.
So I tried calling the number on the flyer I had gotten. Unfortunately there in only an answering machine there, and it is always full. So I tried getting a hold of the check I had sent them on-line. On the back is the name of their bank in Ft. Lauderdale. It is called Bank Atlantic. So I called them to see if they could help. They could not. They would not give out the information on the company, not even a phone number. They also do not have a security department to deal with these matters.
After trying numerous times to find the company using the yellow pages and directory assistance I have run out of ideas. I wonder if the FBI has a place where a complaint on a company that is scamming people can be filed? Unfortunately if you are reading this you have also probably been scammed. If not, be wise and don't bother with this company. There are so many complaints about it on this web site that when I saw how many there were I felt really stupid for not checking it out before I sent them my money.
