Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

We attended a presentation on 5/27/15 at Grand Resort Travel and subsequently purchased a Two Golden Weeks Plan for $3995 + fees.

During the presentation discussion of the 'golden' weeks, the presenter wrote the figures $375 and $550 on the board, and clearly (quite clearly and specifically) said this was the range we would have to pay for booking our ‘golden’ weeks.  When I asked her to clarify the range, she said the difference was dependent upon the number of bedrooms that you booked, but that $550 represented the maximum you would pay.

We booked a 'hot' week almost immediately which were were able to get for the promised price range of $225 -$370, but a week or so later when we tried to book our first 'golden' week, the price estimate came in at $1050.  DOUBLE the price we were promised at the presentation!

Sure this was a mistake we called customer service and were informed that there is NO limit to how much you would pay for a 'golden' week. When we explained what we were told during the presentation, they simply referred us to the contract where it only guaranteed that our savings would be 'up to 65%'.  When we signed the contract we assumed that the $550 limit WAS the 'up to 65%', since it never occurred to us that we would be flat out lied to during the presentation

We first tried to negotiate with Grand Resort Travel, that they ammend our contract to ONE Golden Week and refund half of our money, but they refused.

We subsequently filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs, but there was nothing they could do for us, since we had no proof of the blatant lies we were told during the presentation.  At this point we are certain we will not see ANY part of the $4000 we paid to them.

The purpose of us filing THIS report is that it will hopefully help others avoid being ripped off by these people, AND that if a class action lawsuit is ever filed against Grand Resort Travel/Grand Discovery Consultants, we will be a part of it!
