Well, I hate to say it, but some of the things you complain about here are results of your own actions.
First, regardless of who, how, where, when you were recruited into a business, you willingly signed on. As a consumer you should exercise better decision making and not fault everyone else for your decision. GCU didn't solicit you into a business, a person did.
Even though the person used company time and resources, they did not represent the company in this aspect. Most companies have stern penalties for people who do what this person did. It should be reported, but it has nothing to do with the rest of the staff.
Second, while reading all these complaints about schools like GCU (UoP, AIU, WIU, Devry, etc.) there is a common theme. People who enroll in an ACADEMIC PROGRAM, in an institution of higher learning, and think it will be easy. You had problems with your neighbors? How is compensating for that the responsibility of the school? Addressing the needs of a disabled person is a required function of the school, however, only to the extent it has to do with your relationship with the school.
It is unlikely anyone is forcing you to do anything. Institutions of higher learning are very heavily regulated. If you want to withdraw, write a letter stating such. Be specific. They have no choice but to comply with your wishes. If they don't, seek legal action. That's not to say they won't give you advice and offer different courses of action, but they ultimately must respect your wishes.
Lastly, maybe you were coming across as obstinate and/or unwilling in your work with the CLC. It's very easy to mean one thing but come across a different way. And of course the instructor's approach changed after you went to the Provost. Your attitude would change too if someone complained about you to an executive of your company.

I am so sorry for the way you have been treated by GCU. I too suffer from a multitude of illnesses and this school pushed me to the point of trying to committ suicide. Luckily for me and my family it was a failed attempt. They have taken my money and are, like you, holding me prisoner. I signed up to take psych 101, a virus infected Angel, I was the first to see it, contacted tech support who knew nothing about it. They were supposed to keep me informed and did for about a week. Then I was told it was safe. I went back in and Norton immediately tossed me out. Then I couldn't even get to their website because it was considered dangerous. I was fortunate. I had a wonderful admittance/enrollment counselor. He tried to help me as much as he could. I never knew the name of my academic counselor as he never bothered to introduce himself. His name was Josh Smith. My enrollment counselor informed him of everything that was going on and since my next class was Psych 315 I couldn't take that class because passing psych 101 was a prerequisite. He never called me with a new class. He never called me period. Finally after getting my computer fixed I emailed him and he told me this was all my fault and I would be receving F's for both classes and would have to pay for them because I didn't follow school protocol. They just took me for $2490 for two classes I could not take because of a virus that infected my computer at their website and gave me two F's. I was a 4.0 GPA student. I am at a loss. I want out of this school because they can't be trusted. I am missing about $2000 in financial aid money, plus the $2490 they stole from me and how do I transfer to another school with two F's on my gpa? I do feel as if I am being held hostage but if they will treat a United States Veteran the way they have, I now know I have no chance of ever being treated fairly. They screwed up. It should have been an easy fix, give me back my money and remove the F's. I was supposed to get two free classes and the F's removed but guess what, didn't happen. I just wanted you to know you are not alone. I guess the only thing I can do is contact an attorney but first I am going to contact my senator and my congressmen and let them know what this school in AZ is doing to students from other states and what they are doing with federal funds. It may not help but who knows? Maybe they will light a fire under their butts and make them doing something honest for a change. Who would have thought a Christian University would behave this way? But judging from the caliber of Christians I have run into at this unversity I am not surprised. They are some of the rudest, nastiest people I have ever met. My last class, psych 101 which I actually got to take this time, was the best class I have taken so far because it wasn't run by religious fanatics who are not the nicest people to be around and God forbid if your opinion is different than theirs because they will shut you out and treat you like garbage. It is a sad sad state of affairs when a school is allowed to be run like this.
I salute you and thank you for your bravery in the war and for standing up and writing this letter an letting me know I am not in this fight alone. God Bless You.
