Received a postcard, stating we could have a free cruise for attending a meeting in Tampa. We attended the meeting on 4/10/14 and signed a contract to use their Concierage Service for travel and paid them $7990.00. There was only one cruise and we did not get it. On 4/29/14, we contacted Global to book a reservation in Waycross, GA. We were booked at a Best Western at $73.55/night for July 3-8, 2014. When we arrived at the motel on July 3, the owner told us the rate was $61.00/night. I immediately called Global and the lady I spoke with told me the hotels often change rates and I told them I wanted to cancel my membership. The owner showed me his rate sheet. The sheet was dated 1/1/2014. There were no changes made.
I called Global back on 7/29/14 to make sure we were cancelled out. Mr. Matthew Inman called back to say that motels often change their rates and that we couldn't cancel our membership because we had used their services.
$7990.00 is a lot of money for one bogus reservation that we could have made ourselves.
