After being saturated with the multiple GEICO advertisements (both on TV and in our mailbox), my husband and I thought, "Hey, why not make that 15 minute call that could save us as much as 40% on our automobile insurance?" DON"T WASTE YOUR BREATH!!!!!!!

My husband spent much longer than 15 minutes on the phone with a GEICO representative going over all the details. Currently we spend approximately $1300 a year on our insurance for our two vehicles. For the SAME, EXACT coverage GEICO quoted my husband a price of about $800. My husband repeatedly asked the representative if this coverage was for a year. And repeatedly he was assured that it was coverage for a year.

Being a CAUTIOUS and EDUCATED consumer, my husband said he wanted to think about it and would call them back in a few days. He called back and went over each and every item on our State Farm coverage so we would have the same coverage with GEICO. Again he was quoted a little over $800 for a year's coverage. That was a $500 savings. Sign us up!!!!

Thank goodness we didn't cancel our coverage with State Farm. . . we were in the reinstatement phase! When we received our policy from GEICO. . . guess what? The $800 was for a 6 month premium!!!!! Not for a year! So, we would be paying $1600 a year for GEICO.

Do they think we are that stupid? Upon opening that policy, my husband immediately called, only to be told that he must have misunderstood the quote. I won't write what he told GEICO, but after a few phone calls, we received our money back. . . short $30 for the coverage of a few days they claim we had. We have since written to them providing th
