Congratulations, you have fallen for one the oldest and most obvious scams anyone ever thought up, but it certainly wasn't GE Capital Bank. NO reputable company asks for money upfront for any loan. NO reputable company will ask you to use a green dot card for anything, payments or otherwise. GE Capital bank does not make loans of this type and they do not contact persons to take out loans. Any time you are offered a loan with any type of upfront fee, insurance payment, earnest payment, etc. IT'S A SCAM!!!!!

It is a scammer that is using GE Capital's name...not the real GE Retail Capital Bank.

Why would you think that GE Capital Retail Bank issues payday loans for a fee on a Green Dot card or any reloadable card?

It's a scammer using a well known name for the very well known Advance Fee Loan Scam. It isn't legal to charge an advance fee for a consumer loan. Go to FTC(dot)gov and read up on this and other consumer scams so you don't fall for any other scam.

The phone numbers are spoofed. The names of the people you speak with are fake. The first tip off is they ask for money for any reason to be loaded onto a reloadable card and then ask for the PIN to take the money. Next time say NO right away and hang up. As you noticed they will keep asking for more and more money from you until you do say no.

Thank you for posting the numbers anyway. Maybe someone will research first and not lose their money.

You were scammed but not by the real GE Capital. I don't understand why people fall for such an obvious scam. Oh well.
