I PURCHASED A 1996 CHEVY BLAZER APPROXIMATELY 1 YEAR AGO FROM GANDRUD IN GREEN BAY. FIRST OFF, I'D LIKE TO SAY THANK GOD I PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE FIRST WEEK I BOUGHT THE BLAZER, THE BALL JOINTS WENT BAD AND THE REAR AXLE SEALS WENT BAD. I ALSO HAD THEM LOOK AT THE TRANSMISSION TO WHICH THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG.

TWO WEEKS LATER, THEY REPLACED THE U-JOINTS AT THE REAR END AND LOOKED AT THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN. AGAIN, THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. A WEEK LATER, I HAD THEM LOOK AT THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN TO FIND OUT THE VCM - VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE WAS SHOT. NEXT, I HAD THE BLAZER IN TO HAVE THE TENSIONER BEARING REPLACED ALONG WITH THE BELT AND A NEW SEAL WAS INSTALLED IN THE POWER STEERING PUMP.

A MONTH LATER, IT WAS IN FOR A NEW ALTERNATOR, POWER WINDOW MOTOR AND POWER LUMBAR SUPPORT IN THE DRIVERS SEAT. A FEW WEEKS LATER, THE BELT WAS CHIRPING AGAIN FOR THE THIRD TIME AND THEY NOTICED THAT WHEN THE POWER STEERING PUMP SEAL WAS REPLACED, THEIR TECHNICIAN PUT THE PULLEY ON TOO FAR AND THEY ADJUSTED IT.

AGAIN, A FEW WEEKS LATER, THE BELT WAS CHIRPING FOR THE FORTH TIME AND THEY REPLACED THE BELT AGAIN. NOW I'M AM HAVING IT LOOKED AT AGAIN FOR THE UMPTEENTH TIME BECAUSE WHEN I START THE BLAZER IT JUMPS FORWARD EVEN THOU IT IS IN PARK AND THE CRUISE CONTROL DOESN'T WORK QUITE RIGHT.

NOW WHEN I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, IT WAS LABELED A "GM CERTIFIED VEHICLE", MEANING IT WAS PUT THROUGH A MORE EXTENSIVE INSPECTION. I THOUGHT I WAS PURCHASING ONE OF THE DEALERSHIPS "NICER" VEHICLES AND I WAS WRONG. AGAIN, THANK GOD I PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY.

NOT QUITE SURE I WOULD BUY ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM THAT DEALERSHIP.

It appears to me that had Scott in DePere put the same effort into researching his vehicle purchase that he now puts into denegrating the dealership he would not be in the position that he's now in. It would take very little research to find that this generation of Blazer that Scott purchased is no Honda or Toyota. The 2 door version is at or near the top of the list in vehicular deaths. I don't know what Scott paid for this vehicle but I'll bet it wasn't much. The internet is a marverlous research tool for all of us to make better purchasing decisions, if the reviews are bad than buy something else! It'll benefit us all in the long run.
