Freight Center.com , American Freight, Freight center.com stole money out of my checking account without telling me Trinity, Florida
I purchased an automobile engine block on eBay and needed it shipped, i looked at several Internet sites and the price i got from American Freight doing
business as Freight Center . Com was the cheapest. I discused the item with a lady who said her husband was a mechanic and she knew what i was shipping and we
agreed it probably weighed about #140 , I made the deal to ship the item from a terminal in Ft Meyers Fl. to to a terminal in Norfolk Va for $130.76 . The seller took it to the terminal and they gave him his paperwork and he told me everything was ok.
On 5 /19 /2008 American Freight Company took out $130.76 from my checking acount. it was suppose to take 5 days to ship. after not hearing from them for about a week and a half I called and they said it was in Norfolk ,
I asked why i was not called and they said they didnt know why. When i picked it up the guy at the trucking company told me to sign a form , i did not have my
glasses and asked what it was for, he said it was just saying i received the item. I signed it and left with my part.
On Saturday 7 / 19 / 08 i was balancing my checking account and noticed Freight Center Inc. had taken another $134.68 from my account. On Monday 7 / 21 / 08 i called freight Center to tell them. No one was in the billing office and i left a message. Tuesday i called again and got a very rude woman who acted like i was stupid and said my shipment weighed more than we thought and they charged me $. 90 some cents PER POUND extra. At
that rate a truck load of merchandise is worth $40,000. or so to ship. They said it weighed #300 and the papers i signed when i picked it up said i would pay any
extra. Bull, i picked it up and put it on an engine stand myself , I could not lift 300 Lbs..
Finally someone from the billing office returned my call Thursday.and i told them they did not have my knowledge or permission to take money from my account and i was going to contact you and contact an attorney to see if i could bring a suit against them. I am also going to place a complaint with the Internet BBB and all of the watchdog sites i can find. If it weighed more than we thought and was going to cost more why didnt someone call or Email me to tell me. i would have used another shipper . $300. is way too much to ship that.
No contact at all ,didnt even tell me when i picked it up , just waited 2 months and took the money from my account. I thought we had a done deal and was not pleased with the way they operated but was not upset. but now they have lost a customer and made an enemy that will talk bad about them every chance i get.

If you go into your account that you created and re-run your quote you will see that the rate there is vey different than what
they are charging you. they break down your cost per pound typically and that is what they use. Also, as you know, you are getting screwed.
I suggest getting a screen shot of that actual rate you ran, dispute it with your credit card company and tell freightcenter to go eat dirt.
they are stealing from ANYONE who gets a rebill and you can fight it. I did! Don't take their crap and post this information all over the place. I saw on BBB they have a C+ that is almost failing! No wonder they take advantage of us.
Fight back against them and you will see your credit card company will help. Also, I suggest filing a small claims case in your hometown since they are not charging you the right rate. They will have to hire a lawyer or get to your city to go to court. You'll win and if they default you have a judgement against them.
