Forecast Homes has failed as an honest and trustworthy developer Sacramento California
When we bought our home from the origional owners in 2000 it was two years old. There was no disclosure of any problems. After a year we decided to get new carpeting $5,000.00 Berber carpeting. When the old grey carpet was removed, there were numerous cracks throughout the house. My husband called Forecast to see if they wanted to repair them. They said unless the cracks were over 5/8" not to worry.
Our new carpeting was ruined within a month from moisture, Shampooing doesn't help. Also the carpeting is two shades darker from the crud coming from the furnace. We had the furnace checked by professionals and the vents had to be sealed and the furnace was impacted.This cost $640.00 alone. Report also included there was dust, mold and possibly asbestos in the attic.
This was just the beginning of a lot of problems with Forecast. The one thing they did for us was to change the stained vinyl in both bathrooms. Which they placed the new over the old. Saying this would act as a moisture barrier. This is only a few problems we have with the house. We have an attorney but, Forecast is prolonging the problem. We have been told we have approx. $141,000.00 worth of repairs. as of this date we have no encouraging news. This is stressful as we are retired and my husband is disabled. We are at our wits end. Facing another winter of wondering what will show up next.
