I got this car in 1999 from my father, who was the original owner. When I got the car, it had approximately 27,000 miles on it, and it now has about 68.800 miles on it.

In 2002, I had to put a new head gasket in the car, which, obviously, Ford said that I had to pay for since the car was over the warranty and the extended warranty. It also was beyond the recall repair time frame. The problem is that no one was notified that it had been recalled. Imagine that!!!Since that time, I have had to put in a new transmission, a new radiator, 2 starters, an alternator, 3 serpentine belts, new struts and motor mounts, and finally this past week, I had to put another head gasket and O2 sensors in it.

This car is an absolute nightmare, but I have invested so much money in it now, that I sometimes feel that I can't afford to get rid of it. The other side of the coin is that I really cannot afford to keep it either. I have written a letter to Ford, but I feel quite certain that there is no way that they will respond, much less do anything about this lemon.

You can be assured that there is no way that I will ever consider another Ford product if this is the type of merchandise they are putting out there. I just want other folks to know that they should be totally aware about ever investing in a Mercury Sable as they are horrid cars from my experience.
