Today, my husband received in the mail two bills from First Premier Bank. Please refer to my previous two postings about this situation in late October. Okay, to make a long story short. We paid off two cards totally and owed $140.50 on the other. In addition to debiting the $140.50 ten days earlier than we had authorized, they took out $162.00 more, plus made NUMEROUS attempts to take out $237.00 more, almost on a daily basis.

On the lovely mailings today, the $140.50 we paid off was credited, however, they decided that in light of all of the UNAUTHORIZED debits, it would be nice to charge us $25.00 for each one ($525.00), as well as reversing a credit from the month before ($100.00), charged us a late fee ($29.00), an overlimit fee ($29.00), a collection charge ($100), plus interest, totalling $819. This is on a card that was paid off with the $140.50!

On the second card, which THEY reported to the credit bureau as PAID IN FULL, we now owe them $84 (reversal of previous credit given for fees not owed), plus $29.00 over the limit fee, plus $25.00 late charge and another $25.00 charge for them paying the insurance on the card that is cancelled and paid off.

Being that the South Dakota Division of Banking is already on this, I will just calmly copy these "bills" and forward these to the nice investigator, who is already less than thrilled that First Premier is not responding to the letter sent to them already. Class action suit, anyone?

HOW DUMB DO THEY THINK WE ARE?

A rep from First Premier called me today and got rather nasty about the $800 they are NOT going to get on fees for a paid off credit card. Like I told her, if you had not illegally debited/attempted to debit on a daily basis considerably more than the pay-off of $140.50, they would not have gotten these back, including the ones marked "unauthorized transaction." I offered to put her on three-way with the South Dakota Division of Banking so we could discuss this and she hung up. Not five minutes later, I get a call from her "supervisor" who berated me for being "abusive" ***RIOTOUS LAUGHTER****. "Supervisor" also addressed why the card they have already reported to the credit bureau as "Paid in Full" they think we still owe them money on. "Yes, it was paid off, but the credit insurance added up and since you didn't continue paying it, we had to reverse previous credits and add late charges." ****SIDE-SPLITTING RIOUTOUS LAUGHTER WITH TEARS ROLLING DOWN MY FACE****. I asked Dumb Dora why in the hell she thinks my husband would continue to pay for credit insurance when we cancelled the card in March and it wouldn't pay anyway, and she became very abusive and threatened to "take everything you will ever have." ***SNICKER**** I, being the calm, sweet person I am, said "oh" and introduced her to "click."
