FNBO sold my Visa account of 12 years to eMerge Mastercard. I did not receive billing statements from FNBO for Dec 2004 and Jan 2005, luckly I continued to make my monthly payments, even without the monthly billing statement. I found out that they sold my account when I tried to activate my new card and could not do so. I then called FNBO to get there help, well they did say after some time that my new card was now activated, and when I asked why I had not been receiving my monthly bills for the last 2 months they informed me that the account was now in the hands of eMerge.

After a lot of trouble and waiting on hold I finally got a CUSTOMER SERVICE rep. I asked why I had not received a statement and was told it had been mailed on the 23rd of Feb.

I then asked if the interest rate had gone up and she said I would be paying 24% instead of my previous 17%. I then said to Close my account and that I would be paying off the balance the next day by Certified Check.

I wrote a letter to FNBO, with cc to eMerge, and the three big credit unions, complaining about the sleezy way they sold my account to such a sleezy co. And closing my account in writing. Then I Made Copies of the cashiers check and mailed my final payment by Certified Mail to eMerge on March 2nd, the payment is not due until march 20th. And the copies of the check to the three Credit Unions.

Today is March 11th and so far eMerge has not signed for my payment. After reading all the negatives about this company unethical practices I am concerned that they will wait until after my due date to pick up this certified letter so that they can assess me late fees. will keep you posted.
