It is nessesary to Fallow up your phone call with written letters ( keep a copy of everything ). Also make sure you RETURN the merchandise as detailed in the return instructions. If i recall there is a form also you fill out and put in the box with the mercandise.You should keep ( copies ) of these return forms and lables - filled in of course,and although if not sent certified - keep the shipping charges if you pay one,( postal receit ). I always called Fingerhut to send me a postage pd. lable to return items so I didn't have to pay it. If you fail to do any of the above your asking fot trouble like yors, because Fingerhut/Axsys uses EVERY OPPERTUNITY to take advantage of consumers..... If you have any proofs you sent these items back and that of your notifying them regarding your card,call the attorney generals office ( consumer affairs ),.Have them send you a complaint form to fill out ( send copies of proofs ),and send it to them.Also if you have proofs,and if Fingerhut/axsys reported negatively to CRAs,write them with complaint and proofs to get the neg. reports removed..
