During the weekend of March 7-8, I attended a art show in Juno Beach, FL.  I purchased a rather large piece of art work for my office.  Since I currently reside in Washington, DC and was unable to carry it on the plane with me, I decided to ship the piece via FedEx.   I paid FedEx to package and ship the art to my office in Washington, DC.   Unfortunately, when I received the piece, the piece arrived damaged, glass broken.

I immediately filed a claim with FedEx to which they indicated they would send out a claims representative to my office to assess the damage.   I proceeded to schedule a time for the representative to come to my office to start the process.  However, a claims representative never showed.  Instead they sent a driver, who told me that he was there to pick up the piece for the claims department to assess the damage and advise on whether they would deny or approve my claim.

When I probbed some more, he proceeded to tell me that I would then need to pick up the package on my own time Monday-Friday from 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m, at the claims facility and that it could take up to 7-10 business days for the claims department to make an utltimate decision.  At that point, I did not allow the driver to take my painting anywhere and immediately called FedEx, to advise them that the process was not explained to me properly.   They then proceeded to tell me that I would need to send evidence of the damage, from the box and its contents to the painting itself, which I did.

I then started to receive numerous letters from FedEx stating that they denied my claim due to missing documents or that they were unable to verify the claim or the documents.   I provided everything that they requested, photos of the damages, the receipt for payment, my credit card bill, a letter from the artist indicating payment of the piece, the artists business card, etc. and the claim is still denied.

FedEx owes me money for the damages that they caused to my painting.  I have also been struggling to find a location to fix the piece.
