Fairbanks Capitol Corporation ripoff theft by deception Birmingham Alabama
I had a mortgage which was purchased by Fairbanks. Ten days after they purchased the mortgage from the previous mortgage lender I received a letter indicating I was late on my payment, and therefore was reponsible for late charges. I wrote and sent certified return receipt letters and received back from them a form letter telling me they had 60 days to respond.. In the meanwhile, the demand letters continued, and they then filed, 2 months later, a foreclosure notice. My attorney informed me I had to pay it, then fight it, or I would lose my home. After paying them almost $5000, they finally straightened things out...without reimbursing me what was mine.
When I was selling the residence, they took their time when I was in need of the paperwork, indicating the accurate payoff. Even with an attorney writing them, they withheld the information causing the closing to be put off an additional week, and costing me an additional mortgage payment, along with their having charged me late fees which did not exist.
They are ripoff artists. I am speaking with an attorney to bring legal actions against them for refusing to remove negative credit reporting they posted. Also, they attempted to block the sale of the house, which finally took place. They then, after the closing and their receipt of the check from the purchasing persons, wrote me indicating I still owed them funds. I continued to receive their demand letters for 3 months, which finally ended after the threat of legal actions against them... They are a ripoff... they are thiefs, cheats, and lowlifes.
