Express Camera - Jack Silver Photo Bait & Switch Tactics, Lies and Deception sell inferior products Edison New Jersey
I was looking at a camera package they advertised on the web that had the Canon40D and 2 Canon lenses.Express Camera Jack Silver Photo steered me away from the Canon lenses in the "Sport Package" and convinced me to try two other lenses they claimed had just come out. They threw together a kit with these Sigma lenses that was more money than the one advertised with the Canon lenses. "Try them out and you can return them in 7 days" they said.
They stated on their website they were selling the Sigma APO 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG/HSMlens for $1999 when later I found out it can be bought for less than $800 new. The other lens was a cheap Sigma 28-70 F2.8. These are not in the class of Canon lenses that I wanted with the advertised 40D Canon lens Sport kit for $1909. When all was done, my total bill was over $3,000 with shipping. They managed to overcharge me for extra batteries, Compact flash card and filters. I knew I made a mistake before the box arrived. Those Sigma lenses had been out for 2 years or more.
When I called the sales person to send the box back and exchange the kit with the Sigma lenses for the Canon one, He said it couldn't be done with out me paying more money which would have brought the total to $1000 more than what they advertised! The pompous salesperson offered to take some money off my bill if I kept the Sigma lenses, but it still would have cost more than if I bought the lenses and Camera seperately. Some great new lenses! Right...So of course there is a hidden restocking fee on a straight refund, which was never stated to me in the original conversation to just "Check out these lenses".
They never intended to sell the original "Sport" package with Canon lenses. This was scam and I've paid over a 10 percent restocking fee. This brings my loss to over $600 with all the shipping. Avoid this company at all costs!
