I joined in on a live seminar about starting a home based business. Within 15 minutes after it was over I received a call from a Mr. Cameron Montgomery for Empire Marketing Systems. I never asked for this call and did not realize that by participating in a seminar I was being linked to a completely different company. Mr. Montgomery told me that his company set people up with their own websites, gave six coaching sessions lasting anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and that if I was willing to work hard, I could make my investment back within two months. I fell for it and it cost me $3,000.

I received three coaching sessions, the first one being 30 minutes, then two fifteen minute sessions. I was told to sell some things on e-bay to build my name up, decide a name for my business and get a business license. I received a list of wholesale businesses, none of which pertained to what I wanted to sell. The web-site? Well, the only way I can get into it is thru that first e-mail I received when I got it and then I can't seem to do anything with it. And if I do use it, it will cost me approximately $40.00 per month. Right after I signed this contract which they made sure to record over the phone, I started receiving calls from someone who wanted me to open a merchant account for another $2,000, which I didn't buy into, but he called me continuously for about two weeks. What you really receive for your $3,000 is approximately nothing. Everything they give you, you can get on your own. I should've known, but they make it sound sooo good. Like the old saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, IT IS.
